Up for auction is this 1989 911 25th anniversary edition. As well as being manufactured in limited numbers, this very special model is one of the final G-body coupes ever produced by Porsche. Only 300 of these special editions were manufactured for the U.S. market with only 60 finished in Satin Black Metallic. This California car was sold new at Vasek Polak Porsche. It was purchased by the current seller two years ago who has only driven the car 4k miles since. This Carrera is now being offered in excellent running condition with a handful of bespoke options, extensive service records, and a certificate of authenticity.
Finished in Satin Black Metallic paint, this 911 shows to be in excellent condition for its age and mileage. Only typical road going wear is present including a few rock chips to the front end. As noted on the Carfax report, the left front fender was replaced under a previous ownership due to cosmetic damage. A few key exterior features of this 25th anniversary are the upgraded factory front and rear spoilers, ghost "Porsche" decal stripe on hood, and 16″ Fuchs-style wheels that wear new Michelin Pilot Exalto tires (Front 205-55 / Rear 225-50).
Inside this Carrera, you will find an exceptional Silk Gray leather interior that features a 930-style lowered center console with a VDO temperature gauge. This bespoke feature is paired with a few tasteful upgrades including a European 930 steering wheel, black shift knob, diamond pedal cover, and a newly installed air conditioning compressor. Overall, this interior shows very well with only one minor crack on the drivers side dashboard.
This Carrera is equipped with an air-cooled 3.2L flat-six engine that sends power to the rear wheels via a desirable G50 5-speed manual transmission. This car features a recent top-end engine rebuild that included the implementation of euro-spec pistons and cylinders. Additional work included ceramic-coated heat exchangers, new fuel injectors, new starter, new clutch, and an ECU performance chip. Adding to the sound and performance of this 911 is an upgraded stainless steel B&B exhaust system as well as a DME relay and ignition coil (stock parts are included with the sale). Boosting the look and performance of this 911 are Bilstein sport shocks, turbo tie rods, and Elephant Racing mono-balls with polyurethane bronze bushings and rear spring plates. Additionally, a B&B exhaust system has been installed along with a DME relay ignition coil. Overall, the car is said to be in excellent running condition. A recent leak-down test performed by Black Forest Automotive is viewable in the photo gallery.
The sale will include a Carfax report, extensive service records, stamped maintenance book, and a certificate of authenticity. Don't miss your opportunity to own this well-sorted special additional Porsche.

Only a speed reference sensor that was out of spec . The coil and ECU relay were replaced on a precautionary basis. The few weak points of these cars that I know of have all been addressed .

Yes correct not a C4 . It is an error on this particular websites pull down menu to start an auction that there is no option for a 89 Carrera. I assume because it’s a rare car .

Included in the auction pictures and text is a compression and leak down test by Black Forest of San Diego, the leading air cooled specialist in our area. This is considered a PPI for an engine . If you like you can contact Black Forest directly and ask for Mark their chief mechanic .
All major mechanical work was done approximately 40,000 miles ago including all the items mentioned above as far as transmission a fresh clutch and fluid change was done at this time. G 50 transmission is very hearty and it shifts perfectly . The top end engine rebuild including new euro High compression pistons and cylinders was done this time as noted in text . Don’t consider purchasing this era car without this work done with the valve guides being completed. They were noted weak point in this era is engine design -once addressed with modern valve guides they will last a very long time. Car will not pass smog with loose valve guides. And yes this car passed smog with ease . And that’s at the California level ! In our area this level of rebuild a cost you $12,000 so it should be noted as done in the value of the car .
The brakes were rebuilt by PMB and the pads are in good serviceable condition .
There are no guarantees in a 30-year-old car. But in my opinion this car is mechanically one of the best I’ve ever driven. And I’ve driven over 100 air cooled with PCA and dealership experience. I am representing it as best as possible. Only known defect is the AC holding a charge for a limited time as noted above . Inspections are more than welcome for serious buyers . One test drive is worth 100,000 words. Thank you for the great questions and keep them coming folks!

For anyone looking to get into a 911 there is no better choice. The best G body car is right here. If you are in the know these are the most sorted out 911,even the AC with Freon 12 will work fine . Dont be afraid of the miles she is just braking in . If I did not own an CE Targa I would be all over this . you are going to drive it to death . No electronic nannies to keep you in check !
Yes numbers on engine match COA . Pictures have been uploaded to our host. Little other than a word of mouth about accident. However, paint match is perfect . Gaps perfect. I borrowed a paint meter and it checked out even around the car . Paint getting a little thin on hood @ 3 mil. From too much waxing over years. Paint is super shiny with a little bit of patina .
Can you tell us if the motor serial no. matches the COA? Any additional information regarding the accident reported in the carfax?

Test drive is worth 100,000 words. So please by all means come by. The visceral feel of driving this era of air cooled G body car is an experience .
