Introduced in 1971, the R107 was exclusive to the North American, Japanese, and Australian markets with specialized engines, bumper designs, headlights, and emissions management designs. The 560 SL combines classic Mercedes-Benz styling and impressive touring capabilities, fitted with a 5.6-liter V8 which was the largest engine to have been offered for the R107 generation. Finished in Signal Red over a Crème Beige interior, this two-owner 1989 example is now being offered for auction with just over 17k miles on the odometer.
This example comes finished in Signal Red with a black canvas soft top, North American specification quad headlamps, front fog lights, chrome bumpers and trim, a removable painted hardtop, and factory 15” Gullideckel alloy wheels. The seller adds that a recent service includes linkage adjustments and clip replacements for the convertible top release. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is upholstered with Cream Beige leather and features matching carpets and burl wood trim. Equipment includes power windows and door locks, cruise control, air conditioning, branded floor mats, and an original Becker Grand Prix stereo. All features and accessories are said to be working properly.
Power comes from a 5.6-liter M117 V8 engine rated at 227 HP and 279 lb.-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission. The 560SL was factory equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes as standard equipment. Recent major service includes an oil and filter change, and replacements to the front exhaust hangers, windshield washer pump, and rear differential mount. Accompanying documentation is provided in the gallery.
This sale will include a clean title, owner's manuals, sales literature, a window sticker, four keys, and the hardtop. Additionally, the original tool kit, convertible top tools, first aid kit, and spare tire will accompany the sale.

@EuropeanC yes the ABS light works.... If you want another start up video, we can do one tomorrow.
@GrabberBlue no, none
Any leaks noticed in the in the convertible top when the car was washed?
Hello Pedigree11
On your start up video it looks like the ABS is not working. Light is not coming on at all, Can you please do another video where the light is coming on and than go off for the ABS, or is it not working at all ?
@mdsmds Although we were not provided with service records prior to our purchasing the car, we did inspect everything that you mentioned. My shop told me there was evidence that a lot of work had been performed on the car recently. We checked all of the mounts and bushings and they are all good. No dry rot anywhere so they had been changed.
Do you have any service records from prior to your ownership? Have the rubber subframe mounts and engine mounts and other suspension bushings been changed? They do dry out as they age.
@rocketman all of your questions were answered in the description, but just to review.
