Powered by a robust 6.2-liter LS3 V8 paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case with a locking center differential, this 1989 Land Rover 90 was refurbished and extensively modified by Arkonik of Somerset, England, before being imported to the US in 2019 under previous ownership. It is finished in Arles Blue over a gray leather interior with diamond-quilted stitching and features an Exmoor Trim black soft top, a Puma-style hood, a KBX grille, an A-bar front bumper, Old Man Emu shocks, Tarox disc brakes, 16″ Khan Design wheels, a Warn winch, a NAS-style rear bumper, a Pioneer touchscreen infotainment system with an Alpine Sound system, LED lighting, air conditioning, and more. Previously listed on PCARMARKET, this tastefully modified Defender is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.
Refinished in Arles Blue by Arkonik in 2020, this example boasts several enhancements, including an Exmoor Trim black soft top, a Puma-style hood, alpine windows, and an A-bar front bumper housing a Warn winch. It also features a KBX grille, a NAS-style rear bumper with a receiver hitch, LED lighting, Fire & Ice side steps, checker-plated rock guards, mud flaps, and Arkonik badging. Rolling on black-finished 16” Khan Design wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires, it has a matching spare tire mounted to a swing-out rear carrier and protected by an Arkonik-branded cover. The interior underwent a reupholstery process by Ruskin Design Limited, based in Wigston, England, featuring gray leather with diamond-quilted stitching. This upholstery extends from the heated front Braum Elite Sport seats to the inward-facing rear jump seats, along with the center console and door panels. The leather-wrapped steering wheel boasts billet aluminum spokes and an Arkonik-branded horn button. Amenities include a Pioneer touchscreen head unit with Apple CarPlay connectivity, an Alpine six-speaker sound system, air conditioning, and a locking center console. All gauges and electronics have been confirmed to be fully operational.
Power is derived from a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine, installed by Arkonik, bearing Corvette-branded fuel rail covers. The rear or all four wheels are driven through a 6-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a locking center differential. Enhancements include an aluminum radiator and a fabricated air intake with an open-element air filter. The suspension benefits from Old Man Emu shocks paired with Eibach springs and anti-roll bars. Braking performance has been upgraded with a Wilwood master cylinder and Tarox six-piston calipers fitted over slotted and ventilated rotors at all four corners. Recent maintenance in February 2023 included resealing the differentials and transfer case, along with battery and hose replacements.

@jlands Thanks for your inquiry. This is an amazing Arkonik D90. If you are familiar with the builder, you will appreciate the precision and detail with which they assemble and finish a Defender.
I am a casual collector and every few years sell a selection of cars. I acquired this D90 here on PCAR a few years ago and have put a few hundred miles on it.
Custom interior and the depth of the Arles Blue paint are indicative of the build quality. The LS3 produces just the perfect exhaust note.

These Defenders are really special. With Arkoniks finish and the LS3 engine, this will definitely demand a premium. Such an outstanding example! If you have not had the privilege of seeing one or driving it: you will not be disappointed.

This is the finest example of a complete rebuild D90 by Arkonik who is widely known to be the Gold Standard for outfitting the Defender. I purchased this truck 2.5 years ago here in PCAR with 945 miles and have since driven it 248 miles to total 1,193 miles on the digital odometer.
