Purchased out of California about two and a half years ago, this 1989 Land Rover 90 has since undergone a comprehensive custom restoration featuring a new LS3 V8 crate motor and a 6L80 automatic transmission. The exterior was refurbished and refinished in the OEM Land Rover color of Heritage Green and the cabin was redone in Camel leather and Scottish plaid upholstery with blue piping, Alcantara headliner, and 3M boat decking wood floors in the rear. The truck also features a new LT230 transfer case, a Lokar gas pedal, a GM performance ECU, a Puma-style bulkhead and hood, a roof rack, a front winch, LED lighting, 18” Kahn wheels, power windows, air conditioning, black billet door handles, and rear jump seats. Showing just over 500 miles on the odometer since the restoration, this custom Land Rover 90 is now being offered for auction out of Georgia.
During the restoration, the truck was completely disassembled, and some panels were repaired and replaced before the exterior was refinished in Land Rover OEM Heritage Green paint. The bulkhead underwent a Puma-style conversion and was galvanized and powder-coated for longevity. Accessories include a Puma-style hood, black billet door handles, full LED lighting, a roof rack, a front winch, a front skid plate, dual mirrors, black tubular side steps, black checker plate fender and rocker trim, black wheel arch flares, and a black tubular rear bumper. The truck rides on black 18” Kahn wheels with matching lug nuts, chrome Land Rover center caps, and 5mm spacers. The wheels are dressed in new BFGoodrich tires, and a matching full-size spare wheel is mounted on a rear swing-out carrier. Photos and video of the restoration are provided in the gallery.
The cabin has been professionally redesigned and upholstered with Camel leather and imported Scottish tartan cloth complemented by blue piping and Alcantara headliner. The rear compartment is lined with 3M boat decking wood lock flooring and features opposing jump seats. Rated at 500 HP, the 6.2-liter GM LS3 V8 crate engine features a GM Performance ECU, a SpearTech standalone wiring harness, a Lokar gas pedal, and an aluminum LS radiator with integrated cooling fans. Power is sent to all four wheels through a new GM 6L80 6-speed automatic transmission and an LT230 transfer case. A transmission oil cooler and cooling fan are mounted below the chassis. The seller adds that the engine and transmission are covered by a GM factory 50k-mile warranty.
