It is our pleasure to present this 1989 BMW E30 M3 finished in Diamond Black Metallic over a Natur leather interior. BMW's original M3, the E30 was intended as a homologation car to satisfy Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) production requirements and would go on to become one of the most iconic sports cars of all time. Designated with production codes 813 and 854, this rare French-market example was delivered without a sunroof and is equipped with a 2.3L inline 4-cylinder S14 engine mated to a European-specific 5-speed dogleg manual gearbox. It was imported to the U.S. from the south of France in 2020 accompanied by over 500 pages of records documenting the vehicle's history as well as the original bill of sale and supporting literature. Upon delivery to the United States, this M3 received a full service including new belts, an oil change, filter replacements, brake system bleeding, and a full maintenance inspection. Now showing approximately 140k kilometers (87k miles) on the odometer, this BMW M3 is being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
This M3 was ordered in Diamond Black Metallic (181) and features yellow French-market Hella headlights with ellipsoidal projectors and automatic wipers. Compared to a standard E30, the M3 comes fitted with boxed fender flares, a unique front bumper and splitter, a revised rear apron, and a rear decklid with an integrated spoiler. All aerodynamic components were constructed from plastic to save weight, and all body panels are unique to the M3 with the exception of the hood and roof panels. The seller reports all glass is original and notes the passenger side door had been refinished at some point under prior ownership. Several minor imperfections are also noted throughout the exterior, additional images are provided in the gallery. The original 15” BMW Style 5 wheels are mounted with Toyo tires showing date codes from 2017.
The cabin is upholstered in tan Natur leather (0295) with matching door panels and carpeting. Driver amenities include an onboard trip computer, power windows, mirrors, and locks, a factory alarm system, and a BMW Bavaria AM/FM cassette stereo. A 3-spoke leather-wrapped M-Tech 2 steering wheel sits ahead of an M-branded VDO instrument cluster featuring a 260-km/h speedometer, an 8k-RPM tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The black leather gear knob displays the unique dogleg shift pattern along with a tri-colored BMW Motorsport stripe.
The European E30 M3 is powered by a DOHC 2.3L S14 inline 4-cylinder engine, which produced up to 200 HP and 176 lb.-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed dogleg manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. The E30 M3 features 5-lug wheel hubs as well as offset control arm bushings installed in aluminum control arms for increased caster angle, and revised strut tubes and front wheel bearings sourced from the E28 5-Series. Upon import to the U.S., this M3 was fully serviced by European Exotic Center of Tampa, Florida with new belts, an oil change, filter replacement, brake system bleeding, and a thorough inspection. The full ownership and maintenance history is recorded in over 500 pages of documents and receipts, detailing a lifetime of service carried out at proper routine intervals.
This sale will include a set of keys, comprehensive service records, owner’s manuals, the original bill of sale, and associated literature. Extremely well documented and beautifully presented, this rare sunroof-delete E30 M3 offers an excellent chance to own one of the most iconic and sought-after vintage sports cars of all time.

Once again it is pointed out that the car has had a full service within the last 30 days. New Belts, new filters, oil change, brake flush, replacement of the reverse light switch, and full checkup in and out. The car is in perfect running order and ready to enjoy. the car is highly original never having suffered any modifications and with only OEM parts used for maintenance throughout its entire life.
Bid in the amount of $62,750
If anyone needs to look at the records of the car, I am glad to share the google drive link to all scanned documents. Also, pictures of the service book were uploaded showing all stamps at regular intervals, Stamps that can be correlated to invoices in records, including all regular services from 1989 until 2021.

As a reminder, the US Spec twin of this car with the exact same color scheme and interior and very similar mileage sold on BaT on 11/18/21 for 105k. the prices of these have been rising and at the current reserve point this car remains not only a good buy but a steal. This particular example is rearer (real French spec/build), more desirable (in my opinion) with its 200hp and dogleg manual gearbox, and most of all presented with a vast catalog of records as well as proof of regular maintenance throughout its entire life.
Good Luck, and to whoever wins, you are buying a true collectors car and a wonderful driving machine, many smiles are sure to come.

Entering the last hour. As I said before, I will be updating you as we inch towards reserve and when reserve is met. Good luck and I can assure anyone who wins will be a very happy new owner of a a very special and unique M3.

@kramco I am hoping it highlights what a truly good example this particular car is and however strange one result may appear, the increasing value of these machines is ever clear. It is time though, that good cars are separated from those who did not live such a privileged life of service and overall care and attention.

@DanielSalgadoPardo that particular auction is the weirdest thing I think anyone has seen. Hopefully the seller gets their money…

I will be present throughout the remainder of the auction and I am currently with the car should anyone need any additional information hands on. I am available to FaceTime at anytime as well should the request arise. I will also be informing when the reserve is approached and when its met.
Thank you and happy bidding.
@alexlouiserose No, the car has not hit reserve, but hopefully we will see it cross that threshold soon.
@DanielSalgadoPardo I'm assuming this means it hasn't hit reserve :(
We have entered our final hours of auction. Considering that a white 1990 M3 with double the mileage (160K vs 80k) of this one, and a substantially less robust service documentation, has been bid up to over 105k, this car looks like a steal at the current reserve set. The E30 M3 here will make a fine addition to any collection as examples with such meticulous maintenance are very few and far between. This French, 1st Gen , E30 M3, will very likely prove to be a future investment in smiles, fun, and collectability, as these are quite rare and estimates would put such cars within only a few hundred made. An example like this with the degree of meticulous recording of its history makes this car a one of a kind. The car is also ready to be delivered with a fresh full service including brake flush, new belts, new filters and oil change, ensuring it is ready to be driven and enjoyed. I hope it finds a loving new home where it can record many more miles of happiness and enrich its history with a new owner, only to be the fourth owner in this rarely passed along beautiful example.

@DanielSalgadoPardo great stuff, and thank you
all good with FT today.
@kramco A new video of cold start should be available to view in the listing as it was uploaded today. I hope my conversation (FaceTime) with Scott left you with adequate feedback and was satisfactory in answering any questions.
Have a good day and happy bidding.
@DanielSalgadoPardo thank you, have just messaged you privately with the number
@kramco Yes, I would. I can be in Tampa with the car at 10:00am. Anytime between then and 5:00pm is good.
Let me know what works for you.
@DanielSalgadoPardo thank you for the explanation and all good my end. Would you be available tomorrow for a FaceTime call?
@kramco The answer is I (the owner) who was starting the car got help with making the video while I was in Tampa with the car. My friend making the video made the YouTube link (as I am somewhat un-verssed in all things social media) and I did not check it beforehand to make sure he was filming what I asked him to film. I honestly think it was a distraction on his end. The car is available to view at any time at The European Exotic Center in Tampa, FL. I will gladly meet anyone there myself and show the car. I will attempt to make a new video of start-up tomorrow where hopefully any doubt is cleared. I will make sure the content is exactly showing what is needed. I can assure anyone that car is in remarkable mechanical order and it runs and starts beautifully. Feel free to contact me directly and I will gladly facetime anyone live or show the car in person. As I said before I will try and upload a better video tomorrow.
Thank you, and happy bidding.
Hi guys, why does the camera focus on the rear of the car when he goes to start it? Also, where is the car able to be viewed?

We are very proud to present our 1989 BMW E30 M3. This particular car is part of our personal collection. This particular model was factory built as a French delivery car and thus is equipped with the original Hella yellow lights. These lights were only used until 1991. The car is offered with a substantial service history record that surpasses any other service record I have personally encountered on any other car. A clear view of the entire history of the car from the time it was originally purchased until now gives any owner a step-by-step detailed story of the cars life. Also; the car is presented with its original French plates with which it was first registered when new. The number on these plates is also recorded in sandblasted numbers present on the windows and other areas of the car, as they were marked as a security precaution when the car was new in order to deter theft. The entire collection of original keys is also present and every light and switch on the car is fully functioning as well, even as far as the tiny key-light in the master key. The collection of service records includes the original bill of sale in FRANCS, as the car was sold previous to the adoption of the Euro. It is the detailed history presented with this car that undoubtedly sets it apart from others I have previously encountered. On this relatively low milage example, an account of every mile driven is something that I valued immensely during my ownership and I am sure any future owner will value as well. I have tried to present the car fully highlighting its uniqueness as well as any blemishes. The vast array of pictures present the car in full form but please do not hesitate to ask any questions as I am more than happy to answer them to the best of my knowledge and ability.
Thank you and happy bidding.
* The car is available for in person viewing should anyone want to see it hands on. *
