Up for auction is this collector-grade 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo S “Silver Rose” edition. Representing one of fewer than 1000 special editions built for the U.S. market, this 1988 example highlights unique Silver Rose Metallic paint, a Burgundy multicolored interior, Clubsport wheels and M030 Sports Suspension as standard. Having recently undergone some noteworthy service items, this Turbo S is now being offered for auction in excellent condition with only 28k miles shown on the odometer.
This 944’s Silver Rose Metallic finish is noted to be in excellent original condition. The seller does indicate that some small touch-ups have been performed on the front bumper and some minor scratches are present on the left rear panel. A collection of detailed images is provided in the photo gallery. This Turbo S rides on factory 16” Clubsport alloy wheels which are dressed in new Pirelli tires.
Inside, this special edition features a unique Burgundy interior with multicolored cloth inserts. The seller notes the interior to be in fantastic condition with all gauges, electrical components and accessories fully functional. Noteworthy features include a Blaupunkt Reno radio, power-adjustable seats, a rear window wiper, headlight washers, automatic speed control and a removable electric-tilt sunroof.
Power comes from a 2.5L turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine rated at 250 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transmission with factory limited slip differential. The Turbo S is capable of accelerating from 0-60 in approximately 5.7 seconds while reaching top speeds north of 160 MPH. This special edition comes equipped with the M030 Sports Suspension package which consists of Koni adjustable shocks, larger sway bars and Brembo brakes with 4-piston calipers. In 2018 following about 18 years in storage, this 944 underwent a comprehensive service which included the following items:
The seller notes the brake pads and rotors were replaced in 2019 and that a performance chip has been added, however the original unit will be included in-sale. Accompanied by extensive records, this Turbo S is said to be in excellent driving condition.
The sale of this special edition Turbo S will include a set of two keys, original books and documentation, tools, a stamped service book, maintenance records, a clear title and a clean Carfax report. Do not miss this opportunity to own a truly well-preserved Silver Rose edition 944 Turbo S.

@Ringmeister Very sample of the 944 Turbo, from 88-91 is a very rare car and in this condition, Fastest 4 Cylinder sports car period ever built 1988-91 after 3years of intensive 944 Cup Racing and the 90 and 91 was just produced for ROW markets just 144 cars USA/Canada of 1990 modells and these cars are, and 89 1300 cars for USA and Canada, and in Europe the price 89-91 was way over 100,000 DM the same as Carrera 2-4 at the time and better track times and that was Porsche not too happy with at the time! this probably way just 3 968 Turbo was built at 305 hp, and that was a tuned 88-91 944 Turbo engine, this was the time when the focus was back at the 911 cars and as Porsche always has done they build cars to parts are over, this was how the 944 Turbo cars finished in 1991 with a production of 700-900 cars, the numbers are not clarified from the factory.

@Ifl22 blah blah blah
@Infinite This car sold on BaT for $64k (all in) a year ago. There was another asking $68k. I also happen to own the same car in my collection. I’m certain this car won’t sell in this (your) bid range, so what was your issue with the bid @pgsustain made. Others like me appreciate a bid that brings the car within realistic chance of selling. His bid was only $5 more??? Very puzzling.
@pgsustain ... very strange auction approach.

Owned one of these new in 88, what a great car. The capability of this car for that time was incredible. I tracked it bone stock a few times at Watkins Glen and nothing could touch it. Belched flames out the tailpipe and was over 150 on the back straight. Super easy to drive at the limit. Brings back memories, the new owner will love it.
You should send me a few bucks for using my pictures
