Debuted for the 1986 model year, the 944 Turbo introduced improved aerodynamics, a reinforced gearbox, larger brakes, and stiffer suspension as well as a new turbocharged engine producing 220 HP. This 1988 example is said to have undergone an engine rebuild in 2002 and a timing belt service in 2017. An ideal subject for cosmetic restoration, this 944 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Wyoming.
Compared to a standard Porsche 944, the Turbo models can be identified by their aerodynamically revised nose with integrated fog lights as well as a body-colored diffuser located beneath the rear bumper. Factory finished in Stone Grey Metallic, this example rides on 17” 996 Twist wheels dressed in older Bridgestone Potenza tires. The seller recommends paintwork due to several areas of failing clearcoat and hail damage. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features black partial leather upholstery with Porsche-scripted seat inserts. Factory equipment includes a central locking system, air conditioning, sunroof, rear window wiper, and power-adjustable seats. The seller notes the dashboard is cracked and the cover for the center compartment is missing. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.
Power comes from a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine that sends up to 220 HP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. The seller states the engine was rebuilt in 2002 and a timing belt service was carried out in 2017. The 944 Turbo comes standard with a reinforced gearbox, external oil coolers, a slightly stiffer suspension, and fixed 4-piston brakes borrowed from the 911. Additionally, Koni struts have been installed and an oil service is said to have been carried out in October 2023.

The engine runs great.
The engine is bone stock and has all emissions equipment installed.
According to the guage it builds good boost.
Pulls hard when you punch it.

where is this located??
Thanks for checking out my auction for a solid and straight 944 turbo. It does have paint clear coat failure in areas and hail damage. You should be able to get into this car for a fraction of a pristine paint car and still enjoy until you decide to paint it. Perfect car if you just want to drive and be able to park anywhere without worry. A vinyl wrap can be a reasonable alternative to paint as well.
