Debuted for the 1986 model year, the 944 Turbo introduced improved aerodynamics, a reinforced gearbox, larger brakes, and stiffer suspension as well as a new turbocharged engine producing 220 HP. This 1988 example comes finished in Black over a matching partial leather interior and is now being offered for auction by its original owner out of New Jersey showing approximately 122k miles on the odometer.
This 944 comes finished in Black and features Turbo-specific bodywork including a more aerodynamic nose and body-colored rear diffuser. Other equipment includes pop-up headlights, a removable sunroof, rear window wiper, black polyurethane rear spoiler, and factory 16” pressure cast-aluminum Phone Dial wheels dressed in Dunlop Sport tires. The seller describes the car to have been kept in very good condition since their original purchase, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black partial leather interior includes power-adjustable front seats, a digital clock, and original Blaupunkt Reno SQR46 radio. Standard equipment for the 944 Turbo included a four-speaker amplified sound system, electric windows, automatic heater control, and leather trim for the shift knob and steering wheel. The seller reports all instrumentation and accessories to be working properly.
A turbocharged and intercooled 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine produces up to 220 HP and 243 lb.-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transaxle. Compared to a standard 944, the Turbo received stiffer chassis tuning and larger fixed 4-piston brakes paired with ventilated discs at each corner. The owner states the car was regularly serviced by Porsche specialists until 2007 and has been kept up to date on routine oil changes ever since. The fuel injectors were replaced at approximately 100k miles and the KLR & DME modules were replaced earlier in 2021.
This sale will include a clean title.

This car has to have replaced the water pump and timing belt at least a few times at 35 years and 122k mikes. No way it's original. If it is, I wouldn't put a mile on it until that was addressed because it would be a ticking time bomb. Number one failure on 944s/951s. But still it looks so well cared for I can't believe it!
Is there a cold start & driving video?
Service records photos?
Thanks

@Khaas78 Bodymotion doesn't have any records since they changed the system to computer. I had a service contract through Porsche which covered repairs through 100k. I also have receipts from Bodymotion showing that service was done at 35k,40k,45k, 50k,60k,67.5k, 70k, 75k, and 90k. I couldn't find any other receipts
@Bartb are the service records available from BodyMotion? Was service done at the required intervals? Thanks.
@VOGRIC Sorry, But I had the car Serviced by Bodymotion of Ocean, NJ and they did not replace any belts.
Sorry to as again but original water pump? OK maybe since it's a turbo but timing belt? They can't be. Are you sure? A Porsche shop would never let you not replace belts every 3 years or 30,000 miles
Bid in the amount of $5,000
@pm2207 Thank you, but nothing has been replaced and it runs fine. Everything is original
@bartb Car looks good. Has there ever been any paintwork/body work?
Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you are saying. But if your original timing belt, water pump and idler rollers have lasted 122k miles and roughly 34 years that is impressive!
I thought they usually got replaced every 3-4 years or every 30-40k miles or else they would fail and destroy the engine.
Bid in the amount of $250
The only thing that I had replaced was the engine seal. The car never needed any other work other than replacing the fuel injectors and tune ups. No smoke when it starts. it runs fine. I am not sure what you are referring to by the "option sticker"? I do have the window sticker when it was new, if that is what you are asking.
Any idea on maintenance? That's a long time. Belts? Clutch? Any records? How about a picture of the option sticker from the rear of the car. Any smoke puffs when it starts? Turbo rebuilt?
