Available for auction is this 1988 Porsche 944 finished in Zermatt Silver Metallic over a Burgundy interior. For the 1987 model year Porsche introduced the 944 S, which came equipped with a more powerful version of its 2.5-liter engine thanks in part to redesigned cylinder heads derived from the 928 S4. This 1988 example was acquired by the seller from its original owner in 2017, and is said to have seen sparing use while being stored in a climate-controlled facility ever since. Features include heated power-adjustable Sport Seats, 16” Phone Dial wheels, a premium sound system, a glass “Saratoga” sunroof, and more. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Montreal while showing approximately 36k kilometers (22k miles) on its odometer.
This 944 comes finished in Zermatt Silver Metallic (LY7Y) and is distinguishable as an “S” version by the rear model lettering and “16 Ventiler” script side moldings. The seller states that the finish remains very nicely preserved and that paint protection film was added to the hood while under their care. Details include pop-up headlights with upgraded LED bulbs, a rear window wiper, headlight washers, fog lights, a dealer-installed rear reflector panel, and 16” Phone Dial wheels. The wheels come dressed in a set of Yokohama Advan A052 tires bearing date codes from 2021.
Inside, this 944 sports a Burgundy interior with heated electrically adjustable Sport seats, an electric tilt sunroof, air-conditioning, a factory alarm system, and a premium sound system with Blaupunkt radio. The original sunroof panel remains with the car and a glass “Saratoga” has been added. The seller states that the cabin is in excellent condition, and confirms that all gauge electronics and accessories remain functional.
Power comes from a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder DOHC engine which produces up to 190 HP and 170 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transaxle. Compared to earlier versions, the 944 S was improved with progressive springs, larger anti-roll bars, strengthened wheel bearings, a more powerful brake servo, and refined Bosch DME programming. The seller reports that the car has been treated to semi-annual oil and filter services and that the timing belt and water pump were last changed in 2017 under previous ownership. The CARFAX indicates two potential odometer rollbacks in 2006 and 2015, however, the seller contests that the mileage shown on the odometer is accurate.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

@Meatsauce23 Those pictures were taken 2021 right before I changed the tires . I have pictures of the entire time of ownership some of which have been included here . The car has been driven less than 1 tank of gas per year in order to keep all the parts moving . This is a spectacular car in its originality that is part of my personal 10 car collection . I am paring down the collection to fewer cars as I am 64 years old .
@Ultracar you didn’t answer how old these pictures are. Since the old tires are on the car the pictures are at least two years old.
@Meatsauce23 can only
Will post service records tomorrow morning
@Meatsauce23 the old tires where Goodyear and replaced in 2021
@Ultracar You should post service records that validate mileage around the times of the discrepancies. Not sure you are going to have a good result unless you prove what is correct and what is not.
@Meatsauce23 I have service records and the original owner who is a celebrated Canadian Ferrari restorer is available to be reached easily with any detailed questions.
The Canadian carfax only has one mileage record. That record aligns to the US carfax. The discrepancies happen after that.
Do you or prior owner have any service records to verify the mileage?
How old are the photos? Description says tires installed in 2021. Tires in photos are not Yoko’s.

@Ultracar "The mileage reflects the condition"
what is the real mileage on this car, you say it reflects condition,
but according to the Carfax in 2005-2006 it lost 60K miles,
so actual miles would be closer to 100K and not the 35K miles showing?
Still a very nice car, but it's low miles that makes the money.
@Craignyc I will get a fresh paint thick metering reading and post it .
If paint meter readings are available please post them

@Batsmobile please look at the original Canadian carfax I posted
The USA car fax is erroneous
Thank you so much
@mibi thank you so so much for reaching out. You are 100% correct. There’s an error in the US Carfax as I posted the original Canadian Carfax I received when I purchased the car as well. It doesn’t show this discrepancy as expected.
@Batsmobile I posted the original car fax
Car had belts and pump done in 2017
By previous original owner.
The mileage reflects the condition
Beautiful car! Patina and condition in pics support low miles but I have same question about odometer discrepancy? Any service records? Is clutch original? Is it possible to get paint meter readings and post a driving video? Thank you!
Hi Its a nice car, great colors... can the owner please expand on the odometer--- one error in a carfax can sometimes be explained, but this one is far too many to believe. too many variations- do you have supporting documents you can post?
Original owner (on request by messenger ) is also reachable for any questions regarding history.
