Initially offered by Porsche as a special order (Sonderwunsch) conversion and later as an Exclusive factory option, the Slant Nose package adds distinctive 935-inspired bodywork to the 911 Turbo (930). This 1988 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe is one of 278 Slant Nose versions produced for the U.S. during the model year and comes finished in Guards Red over Champagne leather. Cared for by two owners in Florida before the seller’s purchase in 2021, this rare 930 Slant Nose is now being offered for auction out of New York with approximately 40k miles showing on the odometer.

The Slant Nose package was offered in the U.S. under option code M505 and includes flat louvered fenders with pop-up headlamps, boxed rocker panels, and straked side air intakes. This example is finished in Guards Red (L80K) and rides on aftermarket 15" BBS three-piece wheels with gold basketweave spokes and polished outer lips. The Pirelli Cinturato tires measure 285/40 in the rear and 225/50 in front. Other equipment includes a black front chin spoiler, integrated fog lights, headlamp washers, a rear window wiper, a dual-tipped exhaust outlet, an electric sunroof, and a “Tea Tray” rear spoiler. The seller notes the car has undergone extensive professional detailing and remains in very good condition apart from a small scratch on the front bumper and a crack on a driver’s side louver. The seller adds that the pop-up headlamp function is currently inoperable. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Champagne and Black partial leather (PE) interior features contrasting black carpet floor mats with red Porsche logos, power-adjustable front seats, a four-spoke leather steering wheel, and an aftermarket black leather MOMO shift knob. Other accessories include power windows and mirrors, a central locking system, air conditioning, cruise control, a VDO quartz clock, a rear window defroster, and an aftermarket Sony stereo. The seller notes signs of wear on the driver’s seat and the passenger seatbelt needs to be repaired.

A turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 282 HP and 289 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The CARFAX report shows a fuel pump was replaced in 2021 and invoices provided by the seller include new A/C and alternator belts in 2023, and a new warmup regulator and clutch kit in May 2024.

This sale will include a spare tire, a battery charger, a new repair manual, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “The car runs well and the turbo kicks in when it hits 3200 RPMs. Currently, the passenger seatbelt needs repair, and the headlights work but don’t come up. If I can’t get to the repairs on these items, I will reimburse the buyer within reason.”

    @racelance o
Have no other maintenance records. I bought the car with no service records. Most older Porsches and I have a few from time to
    Time drip oil.

Could you provide any maintenance records for the car, including whether the motor has been rebuilt or resealed? Additionally, does the car leak or drip any oil when parked in the garage? Finally, has a compression check been performed recently?

  • Jtg356 (seller) 5 months, 1 weekago

The seat issue has been addressed In a prior message. Please check

  • Cgt000 (registered bidder) 5 months, 1 weekago

Unless Sasquatch was driving this car, there is no way the seats would be so badly damaged after just 40k miles. @seller, this is a very special car (I own 3 of them). Wish you had cleaned it up and then present it for an auction. Good luck with the sale

Yes, and from others too. Here is even a Slantnose Cabriolet 930 from 1989. I find these cars very special and appreciate the turbo. But I also know what can go wrong and how much the repairs can cost. The seat is not a problem, but the signs are. If the seat looks so broken, it usually means that the car has not been well looked after, perhaps not well maintained, and so on. That does not necessarily apply here, but it could not be ruled out. Especially in online trading, transparency, accuracy and lots of very good photos are the basis for a good sale. Any doubt has a negative impact on the purchase price and can even deter you from buying.

You have an interesting car, but it involves many risks that could not be clearly eliminated. There are professionals who will give you a good presentation for a fair commission. Pcarmarket could have helped you here. But maybe they won't offer that. We'll see what the final bid will be and I hope you get a satisfactory price.

  • Jtg356 (seller) 5 months, 1 weekago

Im not as astute in the presentation of this car as id like to be ..i sorry i couldn’t help more … i can answer specific questions..but don’t have the technical resources needed to satisfy all of your questions. Have a mechanic check out the car. I would make myself available even though I’m 120 miles from it presently
Have you bought any cars on these sites ?

  • JohnBlackyoldtimer (registered bidder) 5 months, 1 weekago

Thanks for the additional pictures. They couldn't have been adjusted properly. Now we have to twist our heads to see anything. Bad service. The pictures are also not very informative. The gearbox appears to be leaking and the engine has been cleaned, so it is not clear whether it is leaking or not!

Pcarmarket, why is the seller not being supported here and perhaps helped by a professional? Why can't we see the steering knuckles, the rubbers, the brakes clearly? We would also have been able to understand the mileage better here. So many questions remain unanswered and the bids will be much lower than they might have been worth. Who wants to buy a car that cannot be accurately valued? What a shame about this 930.

Yes was definitely rubbing. No longer rubbing

  • Jtg356 (seller) 5 months, 2 weeksago

@ftsuru underside will be photographed in short order
    The drivers side
Seat being worn was answered in a question from another bidder.
    Hope this helps

  • ftsuru (registered bidder) 5 months, 2 weeksago

@seller, as was asked earlier, can you please post pictures of underside. In a service ticket, it said that the rear tire is too wide and is rubbing against the main oil line. What was done to fix that issue? What are the wheel measurements? The driver's side left hand bolster sure seems excessively worn. Is this a replacement seat? With the low mileage, there is no way that seat should be that worn. What is the status of the headlights? You say the "headlamps will not come up". Is that for both lights? I also have no idea how the passenger seat belt could need replacement. Again, with such low miles, it is hard to understand how that could have happened. Any commentary would be appreciated.

Picture 74 shows a missing seal on the shock absorber. Why is it missing and can you please show the other side as well?
Is the original paint still on the vehicle or have areas been repainted? Please adjust the paint measurements. Is everything else on the vehicle working properly, such as the air conditioning, sunroof, fans, sensors, etc.? Are there any known defects on the vehicle?

  • JohnBlackyoldtimer (registered bidder) 5 months, 2 weeksago

    500 / 5.000
You mentioned the Carfax report. But I can't find it in your documents. Please post it. Compared to many other 930 Porsches with 44k mileage, the driver's seat is very worn, so I doubt whether the stated mileage can be correct? Therefore, use the Carfax to prove the mileage. Photos of the undercarriage, engine number and transmission number would also be important. Why is the left headlight cover crooked? Has the car been in an accident?

  • Jtg356 (seller) 5 months, 2 weeksago

@Autotrend I do not have any other wheels for this vehicle
    Thx again

  • Jtg356 (seller) 5 months, 2 weeksago

Pcar market puts that info into the listing as part of their service. I didn’t detail.
Just measured the wheel and you are correct. Thank you for bringing that up!
