Available for auction is this 1988 Porsche 924 S finished in Guards Red over a Light Grey leatherette interior with cloth seat centers. Representing the final model year of Porsche’s original transaxle sports car, this 1988 924 S benefits from the improved engine, braking system, and suspension from the later 944 model. Having spent life in North Dakota, this 924 S was acquired by the current owner out of New York earlier in 2021 and has since received a new timing belt.

This 924 S comes finished in traditional Guards Red and features pop-up headlights, a rear spoiler, and a set of 15” phone dial wheels dressed in Pirelli tires. The seller notes only a few minor imperfections throughout the exterior, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is trimmed in Light Grey leatherette upholstery with matching carpets and cloth inlays on the front and rear seat centers. Equipment includes a power-tilt detachable roof panel, power windows, power mirrors, air conditioning, and an original Blaupunkt cassette radio. The bottom rear seat cushions are missing and some age-related signs of wear are noted. The seller reports the mileage shown on the 5-digit odometer is accurate, although supporting documentation is not available.

Power comes from a 2.5L inline-four engine derived from the 944, which produces up to 150 HP and 142 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transaxle. The suspension and ventilated four-wheel disc brakes were also borrowed from the 944. The seller reports the timing belt was replaced under their ownership within the last 6 months.

This sale will include the original owner's manuals and a clean title. If you have been in search of an unmolested transaxle Porsche, this final-year 924 S is not to be overlooked.

Do you have photos of the rear seat? You state the bottom cushion is missing and it shows wear. Where is the wear area?

I do not see the CarFax shown. I'm assuming the miles are 125k miles due to the five digit odometer, correct?
I do have a few questions.
Can you provide the service invoice for the timing / balancer belt service you recently preformed? I would like to check that the water pump was replaced as well.
Is there any vibration or noise from the clutch or vibration after start up? Can you provide a cold start up to hear the lifters settle or smoke up?
Do you have pictures of the under side ?
    These are fun cars!!
