Inspired by the iconic 935 race car, Porsche's Flachbau or “Slant Nose” bodywork was originally offered through the highly exclusive Special Wishes (Sonderwunsch) Program as an upgrade to the 930 Turbo model. It became an official factory option in the 1987 model year and was designated by option code M505 for the U.S. market, adding $23,244 to the car’s original sticker price. This 1988 example is one of 591 Slant Nose Cabriolets produced for the U.S. during the model year and comes finished in Marine Blue Metallic over a tan and Marine Blue interior. It is said to have been cared for by two prior owners in California before the seller’s acquisition in 2019. This 930 was subsequently treated to extensive service, refurbishment of the interior, and some tasteful modifications including RSR-style Braid Fuchs wheels, a Porsche Classic (PCCM) radio, upgraded speakers, a MOMO steering wheel, and a maple mahogany 917-style shift knob. Accompanied by service records and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this factory 930 Slant Nose Cabriolet is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.
The M505 option equips the 930 with Slant Nose bodywork including flat louvered front fenders, pop-up headlamps, boxed rocker panels, and straked side air intakes. This example is finished in Marine Blue Metallic (F7) with a matching power convertible top. A set of new 16” Braid BZ Fuchs-style wheels were mounted in March 2022 along with new Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires. Other equipment includes headlamp washers, a front chin spoiler, integrated front fog lights, a Tea Tray rear spoiler, a periscope-style third brake light, and a dual-tipped muffler. Records show a new windshield was installed in 2021 along with a new convertible top, tonneau cover, taillight lenses, and a rear fog lamp. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
The tan and Marine Blue interior features heated power Sport Seats with deviated piping. The cabin was lined with new tan silver knit carpeting in 2021 and the dashboard was removed and restored with new Marine Blue leather. The seller also installed a new Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) head unit, Rockford Fosgate speakers, new black trunk carpeting, a MOMO Heritage steering wheel, and a 917-style maple mahogany shift knob. The clock has been relocated to the center console and a tell-tale boost gauge was installed in its place. Other accessories include power windows and mirrors, air conditioning, a central-locking system, and custom Coco floor mats. Invoices showing additional interior refurbishment are provided in the gallery.
A turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 282 HP to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Service records from previous ownership show a major engine-out service completed in 2017. Following the seller’s purchase in 2019, the car received new intercooler and slide valve gaskets along with new oil cooler hoses, brake pads, rotors, and a master cylinder. Corresponding invoices are provided for reference in the gallery.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, service records, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title (lien).

Hi John, only the dashboard was replaced due to cracking in 2022. All seats and doors are original. Engine was ice blasted in 2024. There has never been any engine defects or engine repairs besides oil changes since my ownership. There are no defective functions or any current outstanding issues everything works properly.
Car has been repainted prior to my ownership and full tire off detail in 2023 by detailing dynamics in LI. I hope this answers your questions.
the value on these cars are very mileage dependent. i hope the seller is realistic in perceived value. this is an otherwise lovely car.
You write that the cockpit has been reupholstered. Why, were there cracks and how was it replaced? When was the engine ice blasted? Before 2017 or not until 2024? Has the repair eliminated all defects in the engine, or are there still outstanding issues? Is the shine under the engine block oil or does it appear like this after cleaning?
Does everything on the vehicle work properly, or are there defective functions? The paint measurements are very different. Has Breiche been repainted?
Otherwise it's a beautiful 930 SN! WOW!

The original rims are Fuchs in chrome finish ordered from dealership when purchased and come with the purchase of the vehicle. I have the stored carefully in storage and will try to upload photos soon. They are in mint condition!
do you have the original steering wheel and rims?
I’ve enjoyed this 80’s Icon for several years and it always put a smile on my face every time I drove it. I only hope it does the same for the next fortunate owner. It has been handled and curated as a Porsche of this caliber should be by myself at its prior owners.
