Updated in 1987 with the desirable Getrag G50 5-speed manual transmission, the 3.2 Carrera marks the final iteration of the original 911 series. This 1988 911 Carrera Targa comes finished in Guards Red over a Black interior and is now being offered for auction by its seller on the East Coast showing approximately 84k miles on the odometer.
This 911 comes finished in Guards Red with a removable black roof panel, Targa band, and a wraparound glass rear window. It rides on a set of 16” Fuchs wheels dressed in new Michelin Pilot Exalto tires. The seller notes slight road wear, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features black leather upholstery and matching carpets with Porsche lettering. Amenities include power-adjustable side mirrors, cruise control, power windows, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and VDO instrumentation. The seller notes minor signs of usage.
Power comes from an air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine which produced up to 217 HP when new. The rear wheels are driven by way of a Getrag G50 5-speed manual transaxle. The seller adds that a recent service includes an oil change, an alignment, new spark plugs, hood shocks, and a new hatch shock.
This sale will include a clean title.

I just got a question about the air conditioning
The a/c blows cold as it should , in perfect running condition under the Florida sun

Any other final questions I’m here guys. To recap, I’ve been driving this car for the last couple of months and it drives fantastic. There are absolutely no mechanical issues . I put new tires and gave her a new oil change . I wouldn’t hesitate for 1 second to drive it across the country . It’s a very solid , rust free vehicle that was very well taken care of.

Pcarmarket you would do better restarting this auction with all the errors from pictures to wrong VIN pictures. Creates an air of uneasiness to bidders. Who would bid with so many errors. End sale will probably fall through without a solid restart. Your team should check all these details before processing

Thank you for the updated photos and information thus far. Hopefully we can get paint or at least some engine information. I see a question below about ownership- from what I gather, this car must be on consignment to you? How long to finalize the title and and lien after the sale? Are you able to help facilitate cross-country transport? Thank you!
*This listing has been updated with the correct images of the car presented for auction.
Also curious if you have compression and/or leakdown numbers to share? This would be helpful for the listing, especially if significant service history isn't available.
@ dumitruinc. Is the paint all original? Please post paint meter readings.
looking forward to updated pictures! Can you provide an insight into recent ownership history? You state it has a clean title, but the carfax shows registration in CA with a lien... while you're in FL? Hoping for clarity on who actually owns and has possession of this vehicle.
@tflood yes, wrong pictures , I really appreciate your guys help
@maineman you're 100% correct, I have 2 Targa's and my photographer mixed up the pics
@NHPorscheguy You are 100% right. I have a 1984 and a 1988 Targa. My photographer uploaded the 84 Targa pictures instead of the '88. Will post correct pics asap.
The VIN on the door doesn't match the VIN on the listing. Something is wrong here.

this is for sale at a dealership doing a google search on the VIN. https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/t-Used-Porsche-911-Carrera-Cabriolet-t9704#listing=348773605/NONE Aren't they suppose to pull the listing price down on PCARMarket at the dealership?
Photos of the other VIN stamping a would be helpful. In addition to what maineman pointed out, the door jamb vin does not match the car fax.
Engine and tranny serial numbers might help as well.
@maineman exactly. What the heck is going on with this listing?
Think it's an '84 first year Carrera not an '88. Door jam VIN sticker has a build of 5/84. Wrong headlights, PORSCHE taillight panel, steering wheel, seats, A/C vents, etc for an '88.

I'm seeing just shy of 37k miles. Not 86k
