Available for auction is this 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa finished in Marine Blue Metallic over a grey leather interior. As the final iteration of the original 911 series, the 3.2 Carrera holds a special place in the 911 lineage, particularly those equipped with the more durable Getrag G50 transmission. This example was originally registered in New Jersey and was acquired by the seller in 2022. Prior to the seller’s acquisition, the car reportedly received a major service which included a complete reseal of the engine, new timing chain tensioners and guides, and more. In addition, while under the care of the seller, this Carrera was treated to a set of 15” Fuchs wheels and tires and a new Targa top. It is now being offered for auction by its seller in Texas while showing just over 54k miles on its odometer.
This 911 comes finished in Marine Blue Metallic with a removable black roof panel, Targa band, a wraparound glass rear window, and a spoiler that has been fitted at the rear. The seller reports that the finish appears to be nicely preserved overall and that the front hood and driver’s side fender appear to have been refinished at some point. Detailed images can be found in the gallery. It rides on a set of 16” Fuchs wheels dressed in new Yokohama 008P tires.
Inside, grey leather covers the seating surfaces and door panels and is contrasted by a blue dashboard. The seats were reportedly re-dyed recently and the dashboard shows minor cracking around the center defrost vents. Amenities include power-adjustable side mirrors, powered height adjustments for the front seats, central locking, cruise control, power windows, Porsche-branded floor mats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, and an upgraded Alpine AM/FM CD stereo. The seller notes that the air conditioning was converted to R134a in early 2021, and confirms that all gauges, electronics, and accessories remain functional.
Power comes from an air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine which was advertised to produce up to 217 HP when new. The rear wheels are driven by way of a Getrag G50 5-speed manual transaxle. The CARFAX shows five service history entries, and more recently and an engine out service which included resealing the engine, servicing the air conditioning system and fuel injectors, replacement of the timing chain tensioner and guides, oil return tubes, ignition system, temperature and crank position sensors, engine mounts, HVAC blower motor, and more. The seller has supplied a collection of service records which are available for reference in the gallery.
This sale will include a clean title.

@Skidog214 Nice meeting you as well. Hope you add a Targa to your cab collection!
I drove this car yesterday. It is in excellent shape and drives very well. It pulls strong and stops smoothly. The paint is beautiful. Little to no road rash on the front end. The wheels are brand new. The leather is in remarkable shape. The seals where the top fits the body are a little chewed up, but the top looks good. There was a small crack in the top of the dash.
Also, I spent some time talking to the dealer. It was my first time to visit this facility. They had a large and varied inventory of high-end cars. Very knowledgeable with a shop on site to do all the work necessary to prep a car to be sold. An impressive operation. This vehicle is very solid and should not present any surprises. GLWTA!

@1822 Hello I personally drove the car yesterday. There is no fender work done and the tires did not rub on a full turn. The wheels are 16". I will have @pcar change that now. The 16"s were correct per the build tag in trunk. Option 395 is correct for Fuchs 16" Forged Allow wheels
Saw an invoice in there for Fuchsfelge wheels, 16x7,9. Do you know if any fender work was done to fit the larger rear wheels/tires?
Bid in the amount of $37,500
Are. you sure those are 15" not 16"?
