Finished in Venetian Blue Metallic, this 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe was acquired by its second and current owner from the Collection of Miami, Florida in 1998.  The car has since undergone extensive performance modifications including Porsche Boxster front brakes, Hyperco rear coils, Sparco seats, a powder-coated roll bar, and a turbocharged twin-plug engine freshly rebuilt and further upgraded by Eddie Bello Motorsports in 2022.  Previously listed on PCARMARKET, this example has been meticulously looked after and sparingly driven by its owner for nearly 26 years and is now being offered for auction while showing approximately 74k miles on the odometer.

The exterior is finished in Venetian Blue Metallic and wears removable black stone guards, 930 Turbo spoilers, tinted windows, and later-style Aero mirrors. Aftermarket 17” Fikse F10 wheels measure 7.5” wide in front, 9.5” in the rear, and come dressed in new Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 2 tires.  A set of Speedline wheels with Toyo tires are said to accompany the sale.  The car is said to have been garage-kept by the current owner and received repairs to the passenger-side door and rear quarter panel following the minor accident reported on CARFAX in 2000.  All work was carried out by certified Porsche repair shop Stuttgart International Auto in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  Additional images are provided in the gallery along with the full CARFAX report.

The cabin is fitted with a pair of Sparco seats, safety harnesses, and rails as well as AJASA racing pedals, custom blue carpeting, and a powder-coated DAS rollbar with custom removable door bars. Several auxiliary gauges have been added, a new Kenwood audio system was installed earlier in 2022, and all A/C components have been removed from the car.  The seller recommends replacing the sunroof seal & carpets and notes a small crack on the dashboard.

The engine's initial upgrade consisted of a basic bolt-on Protomotive turbo kit installed by Pro-Tech of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  The engine has been continually upgraded throughout the years including a twin-plug cylinder head conversion in December of 2021. Most recently, the engine was rebuilt by Eddie Bello Motorsports in February of 2022 including the following items:

  • New Precision Ball Bearing 6466 Turbocharger
  • 3.3 Pistons with Coated Tops
  • Mahle Cylinders
  • Polished Crankshaft
  • Oil Tubes & O-Rings
  • Fuel System Overhaul
  • New Coated Main Bearings
  • New GT3 Oil Pump
  • Camshaft Chains
  • Exhaust and Intake Studs
  • New Coated Rod Bearings
  • Denso Ignition Coils & Bosh Spark Plugs
  • Oil Thermostat
  • Oil Lines/Tubes
  • New Oil Cooler & Fan
  • Crank/Cam Sensors
  • Kennedy 6-Puck with Spring Clutch
  • New OEM Flywheel

The 730HP+ engine features a custom ceramic-coated exhaust and full bay intercooler by Bello Motorsports along with a new Haltech Elite 2000 ECU, GT2 Evo cams, Pauter rods, a 78mm throttle body, a custom fuel system, Race Ware head studs, Ferrera stainless steel valves, and Nirosist rings. The 5-speed G50 manual gearbox was rebuilt in 2018 and comes paired with an OEM limited-slip differential with Patrick Motorsports billet side cover. Other upgrades include a modified rear sway bar, Hyperco rear coils, 930 inner axles, Bilstein shocks, Turbo tie rods, stainless steel brake lines, and 4-piston Porsche Boxster front brakes newly installed in 2021.  The seller states there are no outstanding maintenance items at this time.

This sale will include extensive records and a clean Florida title.

Reading at my notes, I belive I missed one important point, the Haltech Elite 2000 ECU has a comple new custom wire harness from the ECU all the way back to the engine bay to their proper location, in addition all the terminals are military grade, meaning the Best quality available. 😀

Means a lot to have this kind of interaction TurboWax thank you.

  • TurboWax (seller) 1 year, 4 monthsago

@Yogimaster Oh I wish I knew that, but they are in the system so you will see them. Any other questions please feel free to ask.

  • Yogimaster (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

@TurboWax it’s typical of Pcarmarket, they don’t work on weekends so nothing gets uploaded.

  • TurboWax (seller) 1 year, 4 monthsago

@Yogimaster No Problem. I'm old school, if I was the one buying a car I will like to be treated that way :) I loaded the photos but for some reason I'm not seen them? maybe because the bidding is close for the weekend?

  • Yogimaster (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

@TurboWax Appreciate the info and transparency!

  • TurboWax (seller) 1 year, 4 monthsago

@Yogimaster the cold start is with the muffler I will load a video with the short pipe. On a side note because I'm a transparent person, I went to open and close the Sunroof < which I never use> is opening fine but is getting stock half way in, I can manually assist it, this is something new I'll have to look into.

  • Yogimaster (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

@TurboWax Thank you. The exhaust sound in that video is from which setup?

  • TurboWax (seller) 1 year, 4 monthsago

@Yogimaster Thank you for your question. 1. The noise is the fuel pump, all the mechanical pumps that I've tested all have some type of noise, a bit louder when low on fuel, I did contemplated installing dual Bosh 044 but I had my concerns of having two pumps and have one fail. 2. The headliner is in pretty good shape the part that is considered "saging" is only on the Sunroof area, I will take a few pictures and load them up, the Sunroof is fully operational but the outer seal should be replaced. I trust I have answered your questions.

  • Yogimaster (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

what is that noise prior to engine turn over in the cold start video. Don’t know if it’s the recording, but the exhaust sound doesn’t have that rumble like in the previous video. Also, what is the condition on the headliner? It appears a little loose around the sunroof, does it imped the operation of the roof? thank you

Added a few more photos with the Spare wheels ( SAC) that will come with the car.

@Mitternachtsbar Thank you for your comment. Indeed back then it was another era, all is left are memories now :)

  • Mitternachtsbar (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Beautiful turbocharged Carrera. I sold my 3.3 swapped and modified 84’ M491 last year. Such an enjoyable and character filled chassis.
A comment on Eddie Bello. I had the fortune of running into him back in the 90’s at Englishtown drag strip in NJ, during the Adam Saruwatari days of import drag racing. An awesome and very knowledgeable gentleman. Eddie’s nickname “Turbo Tito” resonated strong back then.
Best of luck selling your fantastic machine! Your widow maker is packing quite the power punch too!

  • TurboWax (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@burnrubr Thank you for your question. At this time heat and window defroster are inoperative. Thanks

  • TurboWax (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@burnrubr Thank you for your comment. Eddie is a phenomenal tuner, I had the pleasure to see him start with a blank tune and go cell by cell every 50rpm and build a complete map. We had about 150 miles of cruising at different speeds and different loads, the car drivability is incredible not to mention running under load. Eddie is a freelance mechanic and will come to you anywhere in the USA and outside the USA. You provide everything and he will bring his knowledge.

  • burnrubr (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

heat and window defroster still functional?

  • burnrubr (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

for anyone in the know Eddie Bello is a legend in the air-cooled world you might wanna ask him to install a flex fuel sensor and retune to accommodate either pump or corn juice anytime/anywhere without touching the ECU, good luck with the auction!

  • TurboWax (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Some additional notes: For the new owner if he likes to have the car tuned for 91 pump gas I will have my tuner do it and I will pay for it, currently running on E85.

I have 90% of the needed AC components to make the AC functional again, those parts will go with the car .

    Thanks.

  • TurboWax (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Hangar7 Thank you for your question. The car comes with both, the custom made muffler and the straight up pipe. I do have an older video with the short pipe installed and running in case you are interested on that.

  • Hangar7 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Some videos show a center mount exhaust while others a side, which one is on the car currently, or do both come with?

    Thanks,

  • TurboWax (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Yogimaster Thank you for your question. She was born as a 1988 911 Carrera Narrow body, naturally aspirated. It does have the 930 tail to be able to accommodate the intercooler.

  • Yogimaster (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Is this narrow or wide body? Hard to tell from the pictures.

  • TurboWax (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@1000songs thank you for your acknowledgment on this build, indeed, I tried to build something fun and build right; I stopped counting at the $150k figure.

Sweet mother of God. Outstanding build with the best of everything. Do you have a ballpark of hard $$ invested?
