We are pleased to present this one-owner 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa finished in black over a tan leather interior. Featuring a desirable G50 transmission, an extensive recent service, and brand-new tires, this well-kept example is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner. It is now being offered in very nice condition by its seller out of Tampa Bay, FL with just 58k miles showing on the odometer.
This Targa is finished in its factory color of black with a matching black Targa top. Paint meter readings are provided and do show some refinishing, though all panels and surfaces are showing to be in very nice condition which is clear when viewing the gallery photos. A few exterior details include integrated fog lights, heated and adjustable side mirrors, factory tinted glass, and a set of factory 16" black finished Fuchs wheels which wear BFGoodrich Comp-2 tires dated from 2019.
The factory tan leather interior shows to be in very nice condition. All electronics and functions are stated to be in working order including the Blaupunkt Charleston radio. With an original MSRP of over $50k this example was special ordered with additional options such as heated windshield washer nozzles, 2-stage heated rear window wiper, Sport steering wheel, power seats, and a central locking system.
This Carrera retains its original 3.2 L flat-six engine that is rated at approximately 214 HP. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a highly desirable G50 5-speed transmission. The current seller notes, while under his care, every service was completed as per the manufactures recommendations. With a recent $3k service carried out, this Targa is said to be in excellent driving condition.
The sale will include two keys, and original window sticker, factory books, service records, tools, air compressor, and a clean Carfax.

@Mrosilio A video has been added to the listing.
@madavis356 thank you. I will let you know if anything comes up.
@Mrosilio Please see my answer to each of your questions.
1. Auction states it was optioned with a 2 stage, heated rear wiper, but it's not present. Would you happen to know if the mechanics for the. rear wiper are all operable?
Sorry I did not catch that PCARMARKET type it incorrectly. The window sticker shows it as a 2 stage heatable rear window. Window Sticker is in the pictures
2. Any other major service records available besides for the 1 recent record you posted? Mainly looking to see if the clutch was ever replaced or if the engine was ever resealed over the last 31 years.
There is an additional service record that PCARMARKET should of added. We've asked them to post the record to this listing.
3. Age of the battery?
I can not find a date on the battery, thus I’ll put a new one in it
4. I see the AC was recharged during the recent service. Has it been converted to R134? Does it currently blow cold?
Yes it is R134 and blows nearly as cold as my ex-wife’s heart.
5. Was a leak down or compression test performed after the recent service? If so, can you post the results?
I did not do a leak down test.
6. Would you be able to post a cold start video and a driving video going through all the gears?
Sure, I’ll have to shoot it then send it to PCARMARKET
As to your window question I have not idea. As I stated I bought the car out of the owner’s estate
Also just noticed the front and rear windshields are not original. Would you happen to know when and why they were replaced?
Thanks again

Although this auction is listed from a dealer... I consider it more of a personal collection of high end, very nice rides, with low miles... The cars are completely gone through and are in 100% working conditions or they aren't put on the market. Charley stands everything that goes out of the shop. I go into the showroom and leave with a Porsche high. Charley arena red 1997 993 911S you sold a mutual friend has me search for a 993. I am looking for the 911 S.. please keep me in mind if you find another to bring into you collection.

I'll answer your questions in the sequence you ask them.
1 I do not normally open on Saturday but would if you want to come tomorrow. I would open on Monday if that works or Tuesday.I'm usually here anytime the stock market is open.
2 I guess I could, but a DME on a 1988 car will not show the amount of data later cars display. I guess my question would be what information are you hoping a DME would show you.
3 A PPI is no issue, I normally do them at German Tech which is up the street from me. Further if you come during the week you can watch and ask question as the PPI is done. I would need advance notice.
4 No, I also use Bert Smith Porsche in St Pete, but they do not allow customers in the service area.
If you press the contact seller button we can email each other or have a phone call.
Hope this helps
Charley
Good afternoon, I am a private buyer, located in Charlotte, NC. I have asked the Service Manager of my Porsche garage (GMP), to travel to Tampa with me to carefully go over the car.
1. Given that the auction ends in 4 days, when would we be able to see the vehicle?
2. Can you provide a current DME?
3. Can you provide a PPI
3. If not, would we have access to a shop locally, so we can do a PPI?
Thanks,
Sid
@drpijuan Sorry for the delay, but you have to use the contact seller button and I can then email you how to set up an appointment to inspect the car.
I would like to inspect this vehicle tomorrow Thursday 21 May in the morning, who can I contact? Thanks
Bid in the amount of $6,000
I purchased the car out of an estate, and have no idea how long the car sat or how long the owner was sick.
Hi can the seller comment on the limited mileage in the 90's? CARFAX shows only 138 miles driven between 1995 and 2000?
