Now up for auction is this 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet finished in Grand Prix White over a Dark Burgundy interior. Equipped with the sought-after G50 manual transmission, this 1988 example was also ordered with Sport Shock Absorbers, Fuchs forged wheels, spoilers, automatic heat control, and a velour carpet luggage compartment among other factory options. It spent the early years of its life in California before moving to Texas in 1998 and eventually Nebraska in 2004 where it remained up until recently. Now showing just over 97k miles on the odometer, this Carrera Cabriolet is being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
This Carrera comes finished in Grand Prix White with a brown electric soft top and matching tonneau cover. The factory optioned front spoiler remains in place while the rear spoiler was swapped in favor of a standard decklid under previous ownership. The factory 16” Fuchs wheels originally came with optional White-painted centers and have since been redone in a custom chrome finish. Additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this Cabriolet was factory appointed with Dark Burgundy upholstery, a steering wheel with an elevated hub, and velour carpeting for the luggage compartment. Other optional features include a high-pressure windshield washer, headlamp cleaners, and automatic heat control. The sound system has been upgraded with an aftermarket Blaupunkt radio, amplifier, and Clarion speakers. The seller reports slight damage on the driver’s side kick panel and notes that the dashboard remains in excellent shape. All gauges and accessories are said to be working properly apart from the vintage Clifford alarm system which is currently disconnected.
This Carrera is equipped with an air-cooled 3.2L flat-six engine rated at 217 HP and 195 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a desirable G50 5-speed manual gearbox while factory optioned Sport Shock Absorbers provide a firm and responsive ride. An upgraded K&N air filter has been installed and the seller states that the car will be accompanied by service records dating back to 1992. A collection of invoices is provided in the gallery along with images of the undercarriage.
This sale will include a collection of service records, a set of keys, an alarm remote, owner's manuals, and a clean title. A generously optioned and well-documented air-cooled Carrera, this G50 Cabriolet is just waiting to be cherished by a new caretaker.

@Terra @jjdutil No signs or records of the engine being redone. We did check and confirmed that there are NO broken head studs. A compression and leak down has not been performed. If you are interested in doing a PPI that includes a compression and leak down test, I can recommend a few local Porsche shops. As for the clutch, there is a service record confirming it was performed at 43,442 miles.
Has engine been rebuilt and if so in which year?

Has the engine been rebuilt? If so, at what mileage. If not, has a compression and leak down test been done? Is the a/c cold? When was the clutch last changed?
