Pairing a desirable 5-speed G50 manual transaxle with its air-cooled flat-six engine, this 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet is finished in black over matching interior upholstery. It features 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels, an upgraded Billy Boat exhaust system, an aftermarket roll bar, and more. Cared for by the previous owner of approximately 30 years, this Carrera is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.

This 911 is finished in black with a matching convertible soft top. Equipment includes a front valence with integrated fog lights and a chin spoiler, a “PORSCHE” logo tail panel reflector, a rear whale tail spoiler, and 16” Fuchs alloy wheels with black-painted centers and silver outer lips. The seller assumes the car was previously refinished and notes some paint bubbling. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report noting a salvage title issuance in 1989.

The interior is appointed with black partial leather upholstery and features power-adjustable front seats, air conditioning, VDO instrumentation, and an analog clock. An aftermarket roll bar has been installed, and the floor mats have been removed. Patina is noted on the seats.

Power comes from an air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six generating up to 217 HP and 195 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a G50 5-speed manual gearbox. The seller states that the throttle body has been cleaned, new rubber hoses and a throttle microswitch were installed, new spark plugs were fitted, and an oil change was performed. Additional work included replacing the CV boots and clutch master cylinder, as well as installing new shift linkage. All six cylinders are said to show 155 psi compression with no oil leaks reported. A Billy Boat exhaust system is also installed.

This sale will include a salvage title.

The seller would like you to know: “If I were in the market to buy an older 911 today, I would seek out a car from someone who has cherished it for years. This particular car was owned by the previous owner for 30 years; it was not just kept but truly enjoyed. Our team has taken great care to ensure the mechanical parts are in top shape, so the next owner can simply turn the key and drive. Whether they choose to repaint it or refresh the interior is entirely up to personal preference. What truly matters is finding a reliable car that brings joy without the worry of an overzealous restoration. This one undoubtedly fits the bill.”

    Hi Southbaysurf,

Prior owner who owned vehicle for 30 years has passed. Unfortunately, no details from 1989. I suspect stolen as body underneath looks great. Cage could be removed, its bolted in. Top is manual. Windows work, electronics work. I haven't put any work into AC but all components are there.

How is the roll bar secured and can it be removed easily? Is the top manual or power operated? Any idea why the car was designated salvage? Does everything work correctly?

    ** Update **

I recently uploaded a new walk around video. Rear bumper know shows fix made. Also uploaded a driving video - sounds great IMO.

Good luck, hope this one heads to a good home.

Good morning, asked that the team upload my walk around and cold start videos.

Update* the walk around video shows that the drivers side rear bumper impact strip appears to be not attached correctly. I had that removed and installed a brand new strip correctly. Previous owner had use some kid of “RWB”!adhesive that didn't hold. It didn't look right so we made sure it was fixed for the next owner.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you
    have any questions.
