Up for auction is this 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet finished in Grand Prix White over a blue leather interior. Purchased by the current owner from a close friend in 1989, this 2-owner Carrera Cabriolet is said to have been diligently maintained throughout the years with approximately 56k miles now showing on the odometer. Highlighting a refined G50 5-speed manual transmission, this Cabriolet has undergone a recent full service and is said to be in superb condition inside and out.
The Grand Prix White finish is noted to be in fantastic condition for its age with a minor blemish on the left front fender. The seller states that a new German-imported Navy-Blue Cabriolet top has been installed, although the boot cover exhibits some areas of discoloration; a collection of detailed images has been provided in the photo gallery. This 911 rides on factory color-matched white Fuchs wheels which come dressed in 3 Goodyear tires and 1 Dunlop tire on the back left.
The blue leather upholstered interior is said to be in great overall shape. Factory features include power seats, power windows, air conditioning and cruise control. The radio has been upgraded along with the speakers, and the air-conditioning system has been recharged recently. All gauges and accessories are reported to be fully functional with the exception of the console defroster knob and the driver’s power-seat operation.
An air-cooled 3.2 L flat-six engine sends 217 HP to the rear wheels by way of a desirable G50 5-speed manual transmission which was first introduced during the previous model year. Records kept since 1988 show consistent maintenance with the most recent full service carried out within the last 100 miles. This Carrera is said to be in excellent running order.
The sale of this 911 will include a set of two keys, the original books and tools, a comprehensive collection of maintenance records and an air compressor. This 1988 Carrera makes an excellent choice for any Porsche enthusiast in search of an air-cooled Cabriolet.
