Now available for auction is this custom 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera G50 RSR-style backdate. Purchased as a completely stock example in Venezuela by its current owner in 2012, this 911 has undergone a multi-year restoration including a full engine rebuild, a custom RS-style interior, and extensive performance upgrades including a custom M&K exhaust, an Elephant Racing/Bilstein suspension, and Brembo GT “Big Red” front brakes. Retaining its desirable G50 5-speed manual gearbox, this 911 was eventually imported to the U.S. in 2019 where it has been carefully maintained and sparingly driven by its owner in Florida. Having recently been treated to a full oil-system service and cryo-detailing treatment, this one-of-a-kind 911 is now being offered with less than 4k miles driven on the rebuilt motor.
Before being refinished in White, this Carrera was fitted with a fiberglass GT Racing body conversion consisting of a ducktail rear decklid, a front spoiler, and a long hood as well as RSR-style fenders and bumpers. The front trunk pan is said to have been replaced during this time along with the front windshield and all rubber seals. Other exterior modifications include Vitaloni California mirrors, removable Porsche side graphics, black headlight bezels, and 17” Fuchs-style Euromeister wheels (8” and 10”) with orange painted faces and polished lips. New Hankook Ventus V12 front tires were recently installed, and the finish is said to be in very nice condition with a professional paint correction carried out along with a Ceramic Pro coating. The seller notes some minor imperfections on the front hood.
Inside, the cabin has been completely redone with RS-style door panels, lightweight carpeting, a custom orange-painted roll bar, and bespoke perforated leather Recaro-style seats created by Stephan Schloessing of Classic Car Seats in Austin, TX. Other features include a Kenwood Bluetooth-compatible stereo system, a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, a 906-type shift knob, Coco floormats, LED dashboard lights, and Rennline aluminum accessories. The air conditioning system was completely overhauled by RennAir with a Canden compressor, serpentine evaporator, Pro cooler drier/receiver, lightweight barrier hoses, and a Desert Duty compressor. A new headliner and sun visor have been installed and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly aside from the heater which has been removed.
The air-cooled 3.2 L flat-six engine is said to have been completely rebuilt in 2016 with less than 4k miles driven since. It has been upgraded with a custom M&K stainless steel exhaust with headers, a Steve Wong performance chip, a B&B aluminum front oil cooler, and a performance air intake. The rear wheels are driven through a desirable G50 5-speed maul gearbox. The underbody recently received a cryo-detailing treatment, the oil system was completely refreshed, and this 911 is said to be in fantastic driving order with a modern-style fuse panel recently installed. A list of braking and suspension upgrades is provided below:
This sale will include a clean title. This beautifully executed RSR-style backdate is just waiting to be enjoyed by a new owner, do not miss out on this special opportunity.

@hamberger @hamberger, 1. No the car has not suffered any accidents or frame damage as far as I could tell when we had it apart. Please note that both front fender, bumpers trunk hood and engine lid had to be removed when the body was being modified. 2. Is there any rust on the car? The only rusted part that was replaced has been the front trunk pan due to a leaky lead acid battery. 3. Are you able to share any receipts and further details on the engine work? I have hand written receipts for labor on the engine work performed by a certified Porsche mechanic, Friedel Balewsky, owner of Germania Motors in Caracas in 2016. Hope this helps Thanks!

@Jad930 @Jad930. You are correct. I will elaborate for clarification purposes. When the car was bought it had been coated with 3M Body Schutz, a messy anti corrosion product, applied sparingly and over the floor panels, front and rear suspension components, cables, wires, etc. I could not remove all of it and decided to paint the underpinnings with Grand Prix white afterwards. This was greatly corrected with the Cryo Detailing that brought those parts back to new, but you can still see details left over from the original application and paint. I never meant the car to be a show piece but a solid, beautiful and reliable car, which it is.
In pictures 98-100 it appears that white paint or undercoating were applied after the suspension was installed. It seems to be on many of the newer bolts and parts. Can the seller please expand on this situation?
Love the build.
Thanks
Jon

@Aero Ty, have you watched the cold start video? Hope it helps
@Mother033 . The car has a clean Florida Title.
Florida title?
@Gus993c2s @Gus993c2s, Gus thank for asking. As the car was an all glass out job, all removable parts parts such as doors were removed and painted. Therefore, trunk, doors and door jambs were treated with pearlescent white paint. Hope this helps.
Is the paint inside the doors, engine bay and under the front hood also pearl white? Or the original grand prix white?

@Aero @Aero, the cold star video has been uploaded. Should you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. Thank you.
@Aero . Good morning. Sorry for the delay. I just contacted PCarmarket and they will upload the video sent yesterday this morning.
When you can cold start video please .
Ty
@Gus993c2s . The original color was Grand Prix white with Burgundy interior. Now it is pearlescent white.
El color original era blanco?
@porschefan1 @porschefan1, Yes. The car is a US Spec car that was bought used in 2012 and back-dated in Venezuela. All parts sourced from Automotion, Elephant, GT-Racing, Vertex, Pelican, M&K, Rennair, Rennline, Elephant Racing, Steve Wong, ETC. Were shipped from the USA; all labor was carried out in Caracas, Venezuela. I shipped this and other 3 cars (1994 German 993 3.8, an 1975 Alfa Romeo GT and a 2008 Cayman S) along with 2 old Vespa scooters when I moved to Florida.
The backdate build was done in Venezuela?
@Sam56n @Sam56n, As it does not have catalytic converters but race headers, I would say it would be difficult. Exhaust would have to be reverted to stock is my guess
I assume the likelihood of this car passing CA smog is fairly low?
@bannedfromESR @bannedfromESR, It is an improvement from the origila A/C system. I still wish it could blow more air volume in those hot days. Tinted glass would help but the car would loose some of the personality.
@Aero @Aero, I have been trying to upload the cold start video myself but it does not seem to work. Just sent it to Pcarmarket for them to do it. Thanks
@bannedfromESR Since the car was imported to the US it has been serviced at TuneRS in Coral Springs, Florida. Very knowledgeable shop with several patents for Porsche improvements such as the Direct Oil Feed for IMS issues. They look after my other Porsche as well
@Porschehoff, Lots of great shops in So. Fla... which one has been doing the work?
Nice to see an upgraded, intact, completely functioning A/C system in a hot rod; a must in FL, TX, and AZ. The Pro-Cooler alone drops vent temp 10 degrees. $6-7k value add to those who care.
Good luck.
Bid in the amount of $15,000
@Aero . Thank you for bidding. I will upload in the cold start video in a few next minutes
Cold start video please . Thanks
Bid in the amount of $10,000
@Contender No, there is nothing wrong with the car's geometry. It is the effect of the photo when loaded as it was a much wider angle and far from the car, but I agree is deceiving.
Question - picture 13 looks quite odd. Is there a problem with the rear tire ??
@efexforever Yes, the car would be available to see in person, but all offers have to be via Pcarmarket. Located in Boca Raton, Florida.
Can we see the car in person?
Selling my pride and joy. Questions are welcome!
