This 1988 Peugeot 205 GTi was modified by the German tuning company Gutmann and is among the most desirable versions of the fabled 205 hot hatchback. A high-end European tuner car with authentic period styling, this restored 1988 Peugeot is now being offered for auction by its seller out of the Netherlands.
This GTi is finished in red and features a modified rear valence, tail panel, and front spoiler with integrated fog lights as well as flared fenders and side skirts, an extended roof spoiler, and custom black graphics with Gutmann lettering. The car is said to have been restored between 2009 and 2010 and rides on Gutmann edition wheels dressed in Vredestein tires from 2015. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with some photos of the restoration process.
The seating surfaces are upholstered in black and red cloth with vinyl side bolsters with red stitching. The two-tone motif is emphasized by red carpeting, a black vinyl shift boot with red stitching, a red and black GTi logo on the steering wheel, and horizontal red trim pieces that span the doors and rear side panels.
This 1.9-liter four-cylinder engine is paired with a Gutmann camshaft and rear muffler for a claimed output of over 140 HP. The front wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller reports that the car was restored mechanically and there are no outstanding maintenance items at this time.
This sale will include a clean title.
