Representing the most powerful R107 SL-Class roadster offered in the United States during its period, this 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL features a 5.6-liter V8 engine paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Blue-Black Metallic over a Pebble leather interior, it comes equipped with a removable body-color hardtop, 15” alloy wheels, automatic climate control, cruise control, power accessories, woodgrain trim, a Becker AM/FM cassette stereo, and more. Showing under 39k miles on the odometer, this 560SL is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Oregon.
This example is finished in Blue-Black Metallic (199U) and features a black soft top and removable body-color hardtop. Notable exterior features include quad headlamps, front fog lights, a front air dam, dual exhaust outlets, a power antenna, chrome accents on the side mirrors, bumpers, and trim. It rides on factory 15” Gullideckel alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin tires. The seller notes a minor rock chip on the front bumper chrome, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior is appointed with Pebble leather (275A) upholstery accented by burl walnut veneers and a black upper dashboard. Accessories include a four-spoke leather steering wheel, automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows and mirrors, a central locking system, and a Becker AM/FM cassette stereo. The seller notes some wear on the driver seat, and all gauges and electronics are in proper working order with no warning lights illuminated.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated and fuel-injected 5.6-liter V8 SOHC engine, which delivers a factory-rated 227 HP and 287 lb.-ft of torque to rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission. Power-assisted disc brakes facilitate stopping power at all four corners. The suspension setup features double wishbones up front, a diagonal swing axle in the rear, and stabilizer bars to the front and rear. The seller indicates the vehicle has been routinely maintained exclusively by MBI Motors, a Mercedes-Benz specialist in the Pacific Northwest.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, a hardtop stand, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This particular 560SLremains in outstanding condition, showcasing its original paint and interior, which have been meticulously preserved by being stored in a heated garage throughout its life. Can you show a photo of the convertible top to see its condition? Also, can you show a picture of the car with the hard top off to see if there is any body damage below where the hard top rests on the rear body. Also, please confirm tire date codes. Thanks!
@mdsmds The aftermarket sound system components are installed inside the trunk and can easily be removed to restore a factory-original look. No cover originally came for the driver's side inside the trunk; only the passenger side was equipped with a cover.

Does the hardtop come with a hardtop stand?
Is there a piece of trim missing in the trunk on the driver's side? Do you have maintenance records? Any service since the last one noted on the carfax?
