Offered for auction is this 1988 Mercedes-Benz R107 560SL roadster finished in Signal Red over a Palomino leather interior. The first SL equipped with a V8 engine, the R107 had an impressive 18-year production run. This range-topping 560SL version had been purchased at the end of a four-year lease by its original owner and was reportedly garage-kept ever since while receiving documented routine maintenance. Showing just over 48k miles on the odometer, this beautifully preserved R107 benefits from a major recent service and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey.
The body comes finished in Signal Red with a dark brown canvas soft top, North American specification quad headlamps, front fog lights, chrome bumpers and trim, and a removable painted hardtop. This SL rides on factory 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels dressed in a set of new Michelin tires. A new soft top has also been recently fitted and a small ding is present atop the front fender, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Palomino leather upholstered interior features matching carpets and burl wood trim. The car is equipped with power windows and door locks, cruise control, air conditioning, branded floor mats, and an original Becker Grand Prix stereo. All features and accessories are said to be working properly and the seller describes the cabin to have been kept in very good condition.
Power comes from a 5.6L M117 V8 factory rated at 227 HP and 279 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a four-speed automatic transmission. The 560SL was factory equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes as standard equipment. A recent major service is said to have included new fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator, filter, pump, belts, valve cover gasket, brake rotors, wiper blades, tires, all new fluids, and A/C maintenance.
This sale will include a full-size spare tire, the original owner's manuals, toolkit, and a clean title.

@mayart
On 3/31/1998, the ny state inspection clerk entered miles incorrectly. NO odometer repair. Autocheck history report corrected their database. Service records since new, supports mileage to be 100% accurate
@seller why is there a mileage inconsistency on the Carfax? Have you looked into it? Has the odometer ever stopped working or have you replaced it?
