Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1971, the Lamborghini Countach gave definition to the term supercar and remains one of the most iconic automotive designs of all time. Approximately 2,000 examples were built during the 16-year production run, and this 1988 LP 5000 is one of just 610 Quattrovalvole versions featuring the larger 5.2-liter V12 with four-valves-per-cylinder and Bosch fuel injection. The bodywork comes finished in White with matching wheels and a distinctive V-shaped rear wing optioned from the factory at an additional cost of $5k. Having been looked after by the same owner for nearly two decades, this Countach has undergone a recent comprehensive service and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Missouri showing under 12k kilometers (approx. 7,500 miles) on the odometer.
The original Countach prototype was designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone featuring the unmistakable wedge-shaped profile, dramatic angles, pop-up headlights, and signature scissor doors. The aluminum bodywork is laid over a tubular steel spaceframe and features a lightweight Kevlar front and rear decklid introduced for the QV version. An optional V-shaped rear wing came equipped from the factory and a matching European-style front bumper has been installed. The covers for the rear taillights have been removed along with two of the rear bumperettes. Some small spider web cracks are noted on the air intakes and rear spoiler as well as a small rust bubble on the passenger-side fender. The factory 15” OZ Racing wheels are painted to match the exterior and come fitted with original Pirelli P7 R tires.
The cabin is trimmed in tan leather with a dark brown upper dashboard and carpeting. Equipment includes a three-spoke Raid leather steering wheel, gated manual shifter, power door locks, electronic climate control, manual window rollers, a vintage stereo, and analog Lamborghini-branded instrumentation with green markings and orange needles. The A/C needs to be recharged and the seller reports the fuel level gauge is currently inoperable.
One of the most significant evolutions for the Countach supercar, the LP 5000 QV version debuted a larger 5.2-liter V12 engine featuring four-valves-per-cylinder and Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. Up to 414 HP is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual gearbox. A major service completed by Modern Motorcars of Missouri in March of 2022 included an oil and filter change, wheel alignment, and new spark plugs as well as the replacement of the fuel filter, brake light switch, control arms, battery, fuel pump, and air intake hose. A binder of information will accompany the sale and images of the undercarriage can be found in the gallery.
This sale will include the original owner's manual along with a binder of documents and a clean title.

@mayart not a stupid question at all, actually a very good question, the Countach has a timing chain, so no need for a belt service like the Ferrari's
@seller sorry for what might be a stupid question, but do these lamborghinis have timing belts like Ferraris of that era instead of timing chains, that need to be changed every few years ?

@Sds130 these car read in kilometers, most DMV’s don’t know that and people just write down what they see on the odo, 11k Kim’s = 7k miles
What’s up with the mileage inconsistencies on the Carfax? I assume the 11k one early on is wrong, but even considering that the mileage when it got to Florida went down by 100 miles from 10 years prior. Then just a few hundred miles over the next two decades? Any documentation?
