Honoring the 1988 Summer Olympics and Team U.S.A., this Jeep Comanche Olympic Edition has undergone a complete restoration. The work included a rebuilt 4.0L engine, an upgraded AX15 5-speed manual transmission, a balanced driveshaft, a TJ bellhousing, enhanced suspension components, and much more. Additional modifications include gold exterior accents, H4 headlights, Hella auxiliary lights, and LED lighting. Showing just over 141k miles and driven approximately 1k miles since the completion of the restoration, this Comanche is being offered for auction by its seller out of Iowa.
Refinished in the Olympic Edition-specific white with gold accents and Olympic decals, this truck features a custom front bumper with recessed fog lights, H4 headlights, LED turn signals and brake lights, dual Hella horns, an eight-slot grille, a drop-down tailgate, flared wheel arches, and a sliding rear window. The cargo bed is fitted with ash wood slats, stainless-steel runners, and a removable protector. It rides on 15” five-spoke cast aluminum wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery, along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin has been reupholstered with pleated gray vinyl. Equipment includes Olympic-embroidered headrests, a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, replacement white-faced instrumentation, air conditioning, a center console, an Alpine Bluetooth head unit, and LED interior lighting. The seller adds that Dynamic sound deadening has been installed.
The rebuilt 4.0-liter Power Tech inline-six, originally factory-rated at 177 horsepower and 224 lb.-ft of torque, reportedly features an enlarged 60mm throttle body and a double-core aluminum radiator. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a replacement AX15 five-speed manual transmission and an NP231 two-speed transfer case. A B&M cable shifter has been installed, along with a 1994 TJ-sourced bell housing featuring an external slave cylinder. The driveshaft has reportedly been balanced and rebuilt, while the underside has been cleaned and repainted. Stopping is provided by replacement front discs and rear drums, upgraded with copper-nickel brake lines, braided hoses, and a Wilwood proportioning valve. The truck is equipped with Cardone power steering and both the brake and clutch systems have been converted to DOT 5 fluid. Additionally, the suspension features replacement front and rear shocks with poly bushings, while the leaf springs have been rebuilt with Teflon inserts. The seller notes that approximately 1k miles have been driven since the completion of the restoration.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This Jeep is an exception example of the Comanche pickup. A passionate restoration has been performed. Vehicles this condition just do not come along very often, so don't miss this opportunity.”

Does the tach work - in the walkaround video the engine is running but tach reads 0?
