The Bentley Continental Convertible is distinguished by its scarcity relative to the Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible, prized for its understated front-end styling and Bentley’s renowned sporting tradition. Production between 1985 and 1989 is estimated at just 195 units worldwide, with only a small number imported to North America. Powered by a 6.75-liter V8 engine paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission, this 1988 example is finished in black over beige leather. It features a hydraulic independent suspension, a black soft top, interior wood trim, 15” alloy wheels, power-adjustable front seats with memory settings, power windows, cruise control, air conditioning, and more. Showing under 41k kilometers (approximately 25k miles) on the odometer, this Bentley Continental is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Canada.
The Bentley Continental features a Mulliner Park Ward drophead coupe body, finished in black with a black soft top complemented by a beige boot cover. Exterior details include a body-color grille insert and bumpers, quad headlights, and polished wheel arch trim, headlight surrounds, and door handles. It rides on factory 15″ alloy wheels wrapped in Diamond Back Auburn Premium Radial tires bearing 2024 date codes and secured with new wheel locks. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report indicating rear-end damage in October 1998.
The interior is appointed with beige Connolly leather upholstery accented by black piping and paired with black cut-pile wool carpeting. Wood trim adorns the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Amenities include power-adjustable front seats with memory settings, power windows, cruise control, air conditioning, and a locking glove compartment. Auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure are joined by a digital clock, outside thermometer, and timer gauges in the center stack. The seller reports visible wear and some staining on the front seats, minor nicks in the driver’s door wood trim, and slight yellowing along the lower edges of the front quarter windows. While the factory radio powers on, the sound quality is poor and may require wiring attention. All other gauges and electrical features are reported to be fully functional.
Power comes from a 6.75-liter OHV V8 engine equipped with aluminum block and heads, Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. The rear wheels are driven through a 3-speed automatic transmission. Braking is facilitated by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, and it rides on a hydraulic independent suspension. The car was brought out of long-term indoor storage in summer 2023 and received a comprehensive service including a rebuilt rack and pinion, a new right rear shock, a new fuel pump, new front brakes, replacement spark plugs, new upper and lower radiator hoses, new fan mounts, a new battery, new wiper blades, a new air filter, and fresh fluids. The seller reports a light oil leak typical for the model year.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Car is a joy to drive.”

Sensational Continental! One of the great convertibles of the era.
Still looking elegant and classy.
Best wishes.
Well Kept Classic in great shape and fully serviced! Smooth , effortless drive throughout. Convertible top retracts quickly, quietly and in perfect running order. Has had some paint work done over the years, minor interior/exterior touches to be done to call her 10/10. If your in the market for a elegant statement piece at a reasonable price, this is the one. Apart from the sound system that needs to be looked at ( sound is distorted ) this car is turn key ready for the next owner. New tires, battery, spark plugs and more have been added to give the next owner easy of mind. If there are any questions please fell free to comment and share. Thanks
