Up for auction is this 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo finished in Black over a black leather interior. This 951 has been outfitted with a Porsche Classic head unit, mass airflow intake kit, upgraded fuel lines, a performance chip, and a custom exhaust featuring a Lindsey Racing 3” downpipe and cat-bypass. The engine is said to have been previously rebuilt and an extensive amount of service has been carried out within the last several thousand miles including an overhaul of the ignition system, all new fluids and filters, a new head gasket set, coolant temperature sensor, belts, and more. Previously listed on PCARMARKET, this 944 Turbo has since been completely refinished and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey with approximately 114k miles on the odometer.
This 944 is presented in Black and was completely refinished following the removal of a vinyl wrap within the last year. Compared to a standard 944, the Turbo model features a more aerodynamically refined nose as well as a body-colored diffuser beneath the rear bumper. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. Upgraded Hella headlights have been installed and this Turbo rides on factory 16” Phone Dial wheels dressed in BF Goodrich g-Force Comp-2 tires.
Inside, the black leather interior features an upgraded 3-spoke steering wheel, black carpet floormats with deviated red edging, and a custom gauge pod integrated into the driver-side A-pillar housing AEM digital dials for turbo boost and air/fuel ratio. Other additions include rear 3-point seatbelts, window tint, and a Porsche Classic Bluetooth head unit. Hardwiring has also been installed for an iPhone connection as well as front and rear cameras. The A/C was recharged at 107k miles and the rear hatch struts were replaced at 109k miles.
Power comes from a turbocharged and intercooled 2.5L inline four-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle that drives the rear wheels. The factory output was rated at 220 HP and 243 lb.-ft of torque. This 944 has been enhanced with a mass airflow intake kit, upgraded fuel lines, a 28-pin performance chip, and a custom exhaust system with a Lindsey Racing 3” downpipe and cat-bypass. The engine has been previously rebuilt and the seller has provided the following outline of the vehicle’s known service history:
This sale will include a toolkit, spare tire, and a clean title. Well maintained and tastefully upgraded, this 944 Turbo makes a great choice for any driver looking to get behind the wheel of a vintage transaxle Porsche.

@Chicagospeed996 Coolant level is fine. Car is engaging to drive. Runs and drives well! Shifts smoothly. Everything is operational! The only thing we never tested was the alarm key. No issues with hatch, we have the Turbo logo that can be re-applied to the hatch
Hello
In photo 38, is the coolant low? Or an optical illusion?
Any driving or boost videos? All boost related components working well?
Any photos of the rear hatch where they usually delaminate? Sorry if I missed them.
Gears shift well with no grinding at any temperature?
All electrical and mechanicals working as intended?
@Adam37130 Thank you for your appreciated interest. Upon removal of the wrap it was discovered the the car had been wet sanded by the "professional" shop that applied the wrap. Therefore we had the entire car re-prayed in the factory color. Due to its age, the glass and moulding were not removed. We have pics of an engine out rebuild. The cameras if re-installed would record images. not display.
Picture 18 looks as if the car is charcoal please confirm the color.
Is the head gasket replacement what you are considering engine rebuild?
Where do the cameras display an image?
Was the refinish after wrap removal meaning a complete repaint? If so was it a windows and moulding off repaint?
Where you nit able to source or price a dash when the windshield was out for paint?
I was the original owner of the 57th 951 imported into the USA, (1985 1/2). A great car that I morphed into a dedicated track car over 15 years. Sorry I sold mine in 2000!
