Up for auction is this 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo presented in Guards Red over a Linen partial leather interior. With its front-engine coupe configuration, distinctive pop-up headlights and glass rear hatch, the 944 model remains one of the most iconic sports cars of the 1980’s. Equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, limited slip differential and factory sport shocks, this beautifully presented 1987 example is reported to be in outstanding overall condition with just under 36k miles showing on the odometer.
The traditional Guards Red finish is stated to be in excellent condition for its age with only minor road-going wear indicated along the lower front end (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). As a Turbo model, this 944 could be recognized by its aerodynamically improved nose with integrated front fog lights as well as its body-colored diffuser located below the rear bumper. This 944 rides on factory 16” phone dial wheels which come dressed in Pirelli P-Zero tires from 2017.
This Turbo is appointed with a Linen partial leather interior which is said to remain in fantastic shape with all gauges and accessories working properly. Noteworthy features include front sport seats, power windows, air conditioning and a factory Blaupunkt Reno cassette radio. This 944 carries a turbocharged 2.5 L inline 4-cylinder engine which sends 220 HP to the rear wheels by way a 5-speed manual transmission with an optional limited slip differential. 0-60 is achieved in approximately 5.5 seconds while reaching top speeds in excess of 150 MPH. Factory Koni sport shocks are also equipped providing for superior handling. A service was carried out in May of 2020 by Porsche of North Scottsdale which included a new oil pressure sending unit and brake fluid flush as well as an oil and filter change. The seller has reported this 944 to be in top running condition with all routine maintenance up to date.
The sale of this 944 will include a set of two keys, the original books and tools, maintenance records and a stamped service book. Shown to be in phenomenal condition while highlighting some desirable factory options, this 944 Turbo is not to be missed.
