Finished in Guards Red, this 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo was acquired by the seller in 2022 and outfitted with high-performance upgrades and track modifications. The turbocharged 2.5-liter inline four engine features a new TiAl 38mm wastegate, a Turbosmart dual-port blowoff valve and boost controller, a Fabspeed 3” exhaust, a Lindsey Racing performance chip, and an MSD Blaster ignition coil. The cockpit includes Cobra Suzuka Pro racing seats, an OMP Alcantara steering wheel, an Only944 short shifter, Rennline track mats, a Rennline roll bar, and AEM boost and AFR wideband gauges. The car is also equipped with front and rear spoilers, cross-drilled brake rotors, stainless-steel brake lines, and 17” Fikse FM-10 3-piece forged wheels. Recently fortified with a new timing belt, front engine seals, and coolant hoses, this modified 944 Turbo is now being offered for auction out of New Jersey.
The exterior has been refinished in three-stage Guards Red PPG paint and modified with a front chin spoiler and a 968 Turbo S-style rear wing. Equipment includes pop-up headlamps, yellow-tinted fog lights, a front tow hook, a sunroof, a body-colored rear diffuser, and a polished exhaust tip. The car rides on 17” Fikse FM-10 3-piece forged wheels, measuring 10.5” wide in front and 11” wide at the rear, treated with a Cerakote finish. The seller notes the Toyo R888 tires are older but remain in good condition, and spare PPG paint, clear coat, and activator will be provided to the next owner. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a damage-free CARFAX report.
Inside, the 944 has been outfitted with Cobra Suzula Pro racing seats mounted on Planted brackets and NRG sliders, G-Force 5-point harnesses, an Alcantara-wrapped OMP Velocita Superleggero steering wheel, and a Rennline roll bar. Other modifications include an NRG steering wheel quick-release and MOMO hub adapter, a Rennline perforated racing pedal set, LED instrument cluster lights, an Only944 short shifter with polyurethane bushings, a Rennline shift boot with red stitching, an aluminum shift pattern insert, Rennline track mats, Rennline sun visor clips with a GoPro adapter, and new AEM boost and AFR wideband gauges. The seller reports repairs to the sunroof mechanism and replacement of the glovebox hinges. There is no radio installed, the LCD clock screen is inoperable, a crack is present on the dashboard, and the air conditioning system needs to be recharged.
The turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four engine is said to have been modified with a Turbosmart dual-port blowoff valve and boost controller, a new TiAl 38mm wastegate, a Lindsey Racing performance chip, Lindsey Racing fuel lines, an MSD Blaster ignition coil, and a Fabspeed 3” exhaust with a cat-less downpipe. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The brakes have been fitted with new cross-drilled rotors, stainless-steel Teflon braided lines, and Hawk HP brake pads. In September 2025, the engine was serviced with a new timing belt, rollers, front seals, coolant hoses, and an oil change. The motor mounts, coolant reservoir, and hydraulic master and slave cylinders have also been replaced under current ownership.
This sale will include a spare tire, a car cover, and a clean title. The CARFAX report shows a mileage inconsistency, although the seller states the odometer is accurate.
The seller would like you to know: “A PPI was performed, and a significant list of items was addressed.”

What size tires are currently installed, and do they rub?
Since the original wheels aren't mentioned, I assumed they are not included.
@subere great and fair question. I'm selling this and my C5 Z06 as I'm moving to a different platform.
Reason for selling?
@subere yes most definitely. I would actually encourage a test drive so you can appreciate the handling. It's a fun raw car to drive and always leaves me with a smile.
Is the car available to test drive?
Bid in the amount of $5,000
@Rusty.Friddell yes most states have exempt inspection. In regards to the tires, they have a 2018/2019 date stamp so I just added these decals. They are fine for street but I would recommend replacing them for track.
Got it. I forgot about the 25 year rule, which we have here in VA as well. Another question: is the lettering and red marking custom/hand painted on the tires, or did they come that way?
@Rusty.Friddell In the state of NJ, I have it registered as a historic car based on cars 25+ years. Historic cars are exempt from standard inspection. I can say that all turn signals, lights, windshield are fully operational. In respect to emissions, the car has the Fabspeed Performance exhaust that removes the restrictive catalytic converter. It currently is set up with no muffler but new Maxflo muffler included and easily replaced via band clamps.
Street legal?
