Produced from 1982 to 1991, the Porsche 944 has gained acclaim for its front-mounted four-cylinder engine and balanced driving dynamics. This 1987 example is finished in the extremely rare shade of Azurite Blue over Light Grey interior upholstery modified with color-matched Cipher racing seats. Equipment also includes 16” Phone Dial wheels, upgraded Linsey Racing braided fuel lines, a custom Borla exhaust system, and much more. This 944 is now being offered for auction at no reserve by its seller out of Florida.
This example was ordered in Azurite Blue (LY5D), a rarely seen shade offered exclusively between 1987 and 1991. Accessories include fog lights, pop-up headlamps, a rear spoiler, optional protective side moldings, a replacement Saratoga glass sunroof, and 16” Phone Dial wheels mounted with Kumho Solus tires from 2019. Minor blemishes consistent with age and mileage are noted, including a small dent on the lower portion of the driver’s door, while the seller highlights the absence of clear coat peeling. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with an accident-free CARFAX report.
The Light Grey (LQ) interior is fitted with color-matched Cipher racing seats, complemented by upper and lower dashboard panels refinished in flocking material. An aftermarket JVC head unit has been installed. The cabin is said to be in good cosmetic condition, with the exception of a cracked trim piece near the clock. The air conditioning compressor has been removed, the fuel gauge is occasionally inaccurate, the clock is inoperative, and the odometer is nonfunctional.
The naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle, sending power to the rear wheels. Maintenance under prior ownership is said to include a clutch replacement, a new power steering rack, replacement hood shocks, water pump service, and multiple timing belt replacements. Upon the seller’s acquisition in January 2025, the starter, timing belt, balance shaft belt, and battery have been replaced. Additionally, Lindsey Racing braided fuel lines were installed, and the exhaust system was replaced with a Borla 2.25/2.25 unit, while retaining the original resonator. The seller recommends replacing the motor mounts.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “I am the fourth owner of this example. This is a very reliable car, starts every time, and behaves very consistently. You can hop into this car and take an 800-mile trip immediately, but I would recommend replacing the motor mounts to make the trip more pleasant. The suspension is supple and feels very refined. Driving this car is like entering a time warp; the shifts are smooth and precise. There are a couple of small cosmetic issues to address, but you'll be pressed to find another 944 with this rare original paint and this verified service history.”

@rickb20 Yep, Rick is can provide you the screenshot of the email to the editors asking for the correction this morning. This is most definitely an N/A producing in 1987 around 150 hp. This is most certainly not a turbo car. Thank you again!
@rickb20 Hi Rick, yes its not a center mounted exhaust. The exhaust inlet and outlets are centered on the muffler with a 2.25 diameter (stock) in and out. The editors wrote that incorrectly and sent them an email at 7am this morning already. Thank you for catching that and asking for further explanation!
In addition to what I said earlier, the ad mentions a center exiting exhaust, which, if installed, involves extensive bodywork underneath. Photo number 41 clearly shows the exhaust exiting in the stock location on the left. So it appears a significant portion of the description in this advertisement is for the wrong car.
Turbo charged? Also, the fuel lines shown in the images do not appear to match those described in the ad. Is it possible a description for a different car was included with this ad?
