Launched for the 1987 model year, the 928 S4 represented a major update for Porsche’s grand tourer with aerodynamically improved styling and a new 5.0-liter V8 engine with four-valves-per-cylinder. This inaugural year example is finished in Guards Red over tan leather upholstery and features a sunroof along with increased rear seat air conditioning. This 928 S4 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.

The S4 version of Porsche’s 928 received new flush-mounted taillight assemblies and a more aerodynamic rounded nose as well as smoother rocker panels and a raised black polyurethane rear spoiler. This example is finished in Guards Red and rides on polished 16” forged wheels. The seller notes some paint fading on the edges of the rear hatch. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing damage in January 2003.

The cabin is appointed with tan leather and includes an optional electric sunroof and increased rear seat air conditioning. Other features include power windows and door locks, 8-way electric front seats, driver position memory, automatic climate control, a digital clock, a rear window wiper, and cruise control. The CARFAX report shows a mileage inconsistency on September 23, 2017.

The 928 S4 features a 5.0-liter V8 with dual overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder. Up to 320 HP and 317 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transaxle. The seller reports the previous owner had the water pump and timing belt changed before their acquisition in 2017. Additionally, the lower radiator hose is said to have been recently replaced.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Great color combo with super straight body. No rust.”

Hello, speaking with previous owner in NY he acquired it in 2017 and did not put much miles on it, it sat as a garage queen for him. I believe the real mileage is not far from stated.
