This 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe was originally delivered in Japan where it was alter refinished in yellow and modified with RWB-style bodywork. It features a 3.3-liter flat-six engine with an upgraded turbocharger, a billet wastegate, and a modified exhaust system. The cabin has also been customized with Recaro bucket seats, a MOMO steering wheel, and aftermarket VLS digital gauges. It was imported to the U.S. and acquired by the seller in 2022 and has undergone service including new injector blocks, intake gaskets, and spark plugs. This modified 930 is now being offered for auction at no reserve by its seller out of New York.

This 930 has been refinished in the current yellow paint color and fitted with an RWB-style front bumper with a lip spoiler and canards as well as aftermarket rocker panels, Aero mirrors, a custom rear bumper, and an RS-style spoiler with a large RWB-style wing. The exterior has been decorated with a host of removable decals and features Euro-spec side marker lights, a center taillight reflector panel, polished dual exhaust tips, and a front tow hook. The jack point covers are missing, and some imperfections are noted on the front end. The car rides on a set of black 17” Fikse FM10 wheels dressed in Nitto Motivo tires sized 245/40 in front and 315/35 in the rear.

Inside, this Turbo has been outfitted with a pair of Recaro bucket seats and Sabelt safety harnesses along with a three-spoke MOMO steering wheel, a polished aluminum gear knob, aftermarket drilled pedal covers, a yellow ignition lock surround, an engine start button, and drilled aluminum floorboards. An aftermarket Addzest stereo is equipped and a set of digital VLS instruments have been installed including boost pressure and air/fuel ratio gauges on the A-pillar as well as intercooler temperature and battery voltage gauges above the center console. The seller notes that all A/C system components are present, although there is no belt fitted to the compressor.

Power comes from a turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. The engine is said to have been previously overhauled and features an upgraded turbocharger and a billet wastegate as well as aftermarket ignition wires and a manual boost controller. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox. A host of Japanese service records are included along with more recent service invoices showing replacements of the fuel injector blocks, intake gaskets, spark plugs, and shift coupling in 2021.

This sale will include service records and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know:  1987, 930 Turbo, all matching numbers car a car was imported from Japan about two or three years ago. Lots of records, the engine seems to have been overhauled as well as the transmission.”

@subere a lot of the interior carpeting was redone and replaced with RS carpeting, no the car was not in any flood and has not been in any accidents
As far as the RWB build it was all done in Japan. It is technically illegal to have any RWB labeling on a vehicle if it is not an authentic RWB in Japan, it was purchased from Japan and imported over here, I believe it is an early early RWB build when he started but I can’t confirm for sure
We found that it was at “promodet komine engineering” in Japan, most likely the people that built the car.
They are in the same town as Nikai (RWB builder) in Japan, there is possibility that nikai’s (rwb builder) hands were on this car, but we can not confirm this to be a true RWB build, Ty

  • The_emyrean_._ (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@subere these are for sure not 100% done by RWB.

The driver's manual appears to have water damage. Was the car in a flood?

  • subere (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

I want to be sure I understand this correctly. RWB-style modifications are not actually done by RWB -- is that right?

  • Jontpop (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Ok cool so the Decal is removable or replaceable perfect!!!

  • subere (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Photo 111 shows something cock-eyed. Photo 80 shows missing carpet pieces. Carpeting in the frunk doesn't seem to fit well. Seats have non-matching fabric. There must be a story behind all this.

  • prmnorton1 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Jontpop no the wing isn’t wrapped. There is a black part on top of the wing That is a vinyl material. And yes I did compression test before I bought it. It came back perfect I’ll see if I can locate those. Ty

  • Jontpop (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Is the wing wrapped, are there any compression test ava?

@The_emyrean_._ yes, the suspension’s been re-done as well as added sway bar many other upgrades and add ons

  • The_emyrean_._ (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Has the suspension been replaced? It has a slight rake.

  • prmnorton1 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@RWB just the ones that are on car, the other ones I had on were 17 inches and Narrow, they actually did not fit right and it made it ride Weird these are 18 and much wider. Much better ride

@The_emyrean_._ all records and docs are in Japanese, and yes there are a lot of records, going through motor and driving it, it is very obvious the motor has definitively been overhauled, someone put a lot of time Energy and love into this 930 turbo for sure, such an amazing machine!

  • The_emyrean_._ (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Any documents evidencing the engine rebuild?

  • prmnorton1 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@prmnorton1 thanks for the reply. When I see harnesses I usually assume a roll bar or similar but seeing the anchor points in the back seat would point to no cage as well.

For the interior pieces, I was referring to the interior rear panels that cover the retractable front seat belts and cover the gaps in the interior carpeting as seen on the left side in photo 75.

Looks like a great car to have some fun in!

I would just need to find a way to pass California smog, emissions testing

  • prmnorton1 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@sportscarguy3 that’s correct there are no cats on the car. I do have several sets of extra ones that I can include in the sale. Ty

  • sportscarguy3 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Don’t see any cats included in the exhaust system, so assuming there’s no way this would pass California smog as is
Seller can you clarify and or share your thoughts on that?

  • prmnorton1 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Hangar7 there is currently no cage in the car. I don’t think there ever was a cage. The rear seats have been reinstall so everything does come with a car. I’m not sure what other pieces you’re referring to but I do have a warehouse full of parts and pieces so I can pretty much source something if the buyer wins the auction and wants something thank you.

  • Hangar7 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Was there a cage previously installed, if so how was it attached? Eyelets in the back seatbelt mounts for harnesses? Do the missing rear seat interior pieces come with the car, or are those gone?

    Thanks!

  • prmnorton1 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@ErrCooled @Ktetts oh yeah, 100% you could it cross country 10,20 times no problem. The car runs and drives like it’s pretty much new, very very reliable and very fast. Such a great car
