One of only 183 examples produced for the U.S. market during the model year, this 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet comes finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior and features an optional limited-slip differential paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. It has been sparingly enjoyed by its current owner since 2008, averaging only 300 miles of use per year and kept in heated storage during the winter months. Displaying just under 46k miles on the odometer, this 930 is now being offered for auction out of Michigan.

This Turbo Cabriolet is finished in Guards Red with a black power-retractable soft top. It features 930-specific styling including bulging front and rear fenders, a front chin spoiler, and a ‘Tea Tray’ rear spoiler that accommodates the intercooler. Other features include a front valence with integrated fog lights, a periscope-style third brake light, U.S. market bumperettes, black rear fender stone guards, and 16” Fuchs wheels. The seller states a new motor was installed for the convertible top along with new OEM fabric from Haartz Automotive during their ownership. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black leather interior features 8-way heated power seats, power windows and door locks, air-conditioning, and cruise control. The sound system includes an upgraded Alpine iDA-X100 head unit. The carpet was replaced in 2011 while the leather seats and door panels remain original.

From the factory, the turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine produced as much as 282 HP and 289 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 4-speed manual transmission paired with an optional limited-slip differential. A thorough inspection was carried out by RAC Performance in Texas upon the owner’s purchase in 2008 and maintenance completed since this time is said to include an engine overhaul in 2016. Service records are said to be available dating back to 1995.

This sale will include the original owner’s manuals and a clean title.

@sculptedmetal Good morning. The vehicle has not been repainted. This is the original paint. I do not have the Blaupunkt radio. It did not come with the car when i purchased it in 2008. Thanks.

@Bruce914 I always planned to do the engine overhaul some time in the future when i bought the car in 2008. My thinking was to be proactive in making sure the engine was well taken of and in peak condition. In 2016 it was close to 30 years old so i decided it was a good time to have the service completed. I'm glad I had the work done as it gave me peace of mind that my vehicle is in excellent condition for many years to come.

@kjhail2um- nicely presented, pretty 930. Has it been repainted? There are a couple of areas that suggest this. Do you have original radio? Thanks for your answers.

Beautiful car - what prompted the overhaul with 44k or so miles?

@JohnBlackyoldtimer Good evening. It's been a few years since my last visit to Germany. I have friends in Neuss and Dusseldorf.
My car is mechanically sound in all areas. However, I do get a spot of oil under the engine every once in a while after a drive. I had the engine overhauled in 2016 by a certified Porsche mechanic at Action 1 Automotive in Rochester Hills, MI. I do all of my maintenance and oil changes at Action 1.
I have had the brake pads and rotors replaced.
I will add a picture of the title to the photo gallery for your review.
    Thanks again for your interest.
    Ken

Hello, a very nice 911 and I would like to know if there are any technical weaknesses such as a leaking engine or gearbox, a maintenance backlog, an engine overhaul, what measures, technical problems, etc.?

How good are the tires and how old are they, have the brake discs been renewed and the brake pads? Can you please show the title.
Thank you very much and I would be happy if we can do a business.
    Greetings from Berlin

@Punnzzells Hi, my name is Ken and I’m the owner of this 930. Thanks for participating in the auction and for your question. The passenger window is fully functional. I must have forgot to roll it down during the top demonstration. I will post a video of both windows operating. You can check back this afternoon for the updated video. Thanks!

@kjhail2um - for some reason I cannot use the contact seller button. In the video walk around 1 where the top is open, curious as to why the passenger window was not rolled down? Any issues with that window?
