Finished in Silver Metallic over a black leather interior, this 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo was sold new from Porsche Place in New York City featuring an optional limited-slip differential, heated seats, and black velour luggage compartment lining. The car remained in the Northeast where it was acquired by the current owner in 2018 and is now being offered for auction out of California showing under 43k miles on the odometer.

This 930 is finished in Silver Metallic with wide Turbo-specific bodywork and a distinctive “Tea Tray” rear spoiler. Equipment includes a rear window wiper, electric sunroof, periscope-style third brake light, black stone guard decals, headlight washers, and a front valence with integrated fog lights and a black chin spoiler. The car rides on factory 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels dressed in Toyo Proxes T1R tires from 2017. The seller states there is no record of paintwork in the car’s documentation, although the rear quarter panels and hood are believed to have been refinished at some point. The exterior is described to be in excellent condition apart from one small dent below the driver’s side windshield and some minor stone chips on the hood. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black interior features optional heated front seats, black velour luggage compartment lining, and a leather steering wheel with an elevated hub. Other equipment includes air conditioning with automatic climate control, a central locking system, heated power mirrors, a turbo boost pressure gauge, and a sound system paired with an original Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46 radio which was restored in 2018. The seller notes that the air conditioning is inoperable and some cracks are present on the rear speaker grilles.

A turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 282 HP to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The seller states a comprehensive record of maintenance will be provided with the car and there are no outstanding service items at this time.

This sale will include extensive documentation includhing the original window sticker, the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, spare tire, air pump, car cover, battery charger, a clean title, and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

    Congratulations buyer and seller
A handsome Porsche moderate miles at 43K, nothing super special on the build (sports seat etc ) so I would have to suggest " well sold " at $ 130 K ( plus fees )
A classic Porsche though and one to be enjoyed for many years I would say
    Congratulations again buyer

You sure? Gaskets get compromised over time especially if the car isn’t driven. Ok if I quickly reach out to the shops directly?

  • Pschendel (seller) 1 year, 10 monthsago

@joetag4 no, doesn’t look like it.

  • joetag4 (registered bidder) 1 year, 10 monthsago

My apologies but the service records a bit difficult to read. Engine ever resealed or turbo rebuilt?

  • Pschendel (seller) 1 year, 10 monthsago

@Silver930 Thanks! I agree. The five years I've owned the car have been fun. In 1987 the 930 was a top 5 car in Road & Track's page of fastest cars, and it's a cliche, but I really did have a poster of it in my bedroom. They say its best to never meet your heroes, but in this case it's been amazing.

  • Silver930 (registered bidder) 1 year, 10 monthsago

As a long term owner of a 87 930 coupe also in this metallic silver I can vouch that these 930s are wonderful cars comfortable fun to drive amazing iconic looks and pretty collectible.
Silver is really nice on these to show the wide hips in different lighting it really is so classic and just looks great all the time kind of under the radar. The performace of a well taken care of 930 is still to this day incredible in turns braking and once in the power band and to a driver that knows how to use the 4 speed its really fulfilling.
Good luck with the auction today.

@sportscarguy3 Hi! Answers to your questions in order:

    1) The car drives great
    2) Just posted - I think that should confirm answer #1. Those roads are super steep, the video should answer any questions about power, turbo, pull, etc
    3) the 930's turbo comes on fast around 3500, really gives it a fun boost to 5000. Works in 2nd, 3rd or 4th. It's not like a modern car where the turbo is almost always working just driving around town - it really comes alive with more aggressive driving. "Quick" is relative of course, (check my other Pcar listing) but for an 80's vintage car this is very fast.
    4) No I didn't bother with compression and leak down, I don't think there's any issue with power.

I hope this helps, happy to follow up in the DMs if you want more detail.

  • sportscarguy3 (registered bidder) 1 year, 10 monthsago

How does the car drive currently?
Any chance you could do a driving video?
    And or cold start?
Does the turbo spin up and pull through the gears? Well, is it quick or about average?
Finally, at tuneup did you have the engine checked for compression and leak down?
    Thank you

@mgb009 I bought the car in late 2018 and since then I've replaced the oil level sensor, a new air filter housing and warm up regulator, and broken e-brake spring. I've addressed some leaks and minor relay issues to improve drivability and reliability. It's been small stuff to improve the car, and lately I've been taking it to Swiss Motors in Culver City, they've been great. It's been tuned up and serviced throughout my ownership. Prior to my ownership there was a compensation valve replaced in the intake and many small repairs to the A/C, small oil leaks, etc. At 30,000 there was a decent amount of work done, with brake pad and sensor replacement, rebuild of the transmission, replacement of the clutch disk and release bearing. Aside from the 30k work there is no record of any major engine or suspension work.

  • mgb009 (registered bidder) 1 year, 10 monthsago

You mention that the seller states a comprehensive record of maintenance will be provided with the car. Can you list some of the major service items that have been completed including dates mileage. It's hard to see any detail in the youtube clip. Im interested in engine work, transmission, suspension, brakes. Thanks!

@xrdv8 sure, I'm around. Let me know what works. I'm not sure how DM's work on PCAR - maybe hit the contact seller button to email me direct and include your details.

Is it possible to come see the car in person in the next day or two?

  • Pschendel (seller) 1 year, 10 monthsago

@Pmandl HI! I don't currently have access to a lift, but I went around the car for you. If I missed something specific that you're looking for please let me know. I always thought about getting a dry ice cleaning but never got around to it, I think it would come out really nicely.

@xrdv8 Hi, the car is currently registered in California. It has (surprisingly!)passed Cali smog twice now on the first try no problem. There is no rust on the car.
