For the Porsche 911 Carrera, the 1987 model year marked the introduction of a new G50 5-Speed manual transmission and a more powerfully tuned 3.2-liter flat-six engine. This 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa comes finished in Silver Metallic over a Silver Grey Special Leather interior and features optional front and rear spoilers along with 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels, velour luggage compartment lining, and an elevated steering wheel hub. The car is believed to have had no more than three previous owners and was treated to an engine rebuild in 2016 at a cost of $17k as well as a recent braking system overhaul and a recent oil service. This Targa is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California while showing approximately 45k miles on the odometer.
This 911 came factory-finished in Silver Metallic (L980) and equipped with optional front and rear spoilers along with 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels. Other details include a front valence with integrated fog lights, a periscope-style third brake light, a removable black roof panel, a heated glass dome rear window, and a black wraparound Targa bar. The seller indicates that new Michelin tires were mounted in 2018 and the paint remains very well presented while showing a few small scratches on top of the front bumper and a very small ding near the top of the passenger front fender. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with Silver Grey Special Leather (HQ) upholstery and matching carpets accented by a black dashboard and deviated seat piping. Factory features include power seats and windows, an optional elevated steering wheel hub, a central locking system, automatic speed control, a velour luggage compartment lining, an alarm system, air conditioning, and a Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46 cassette stereo. The seller notes some signs of wear on the outer seat bolsters and confirms all gauges and accessories are working properly.
Up to 217 HP and 195 lb.-ft of torque comes from an air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine that drives the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed G50 manual transmission. The seller states an invoice is included showing $17k invested in a full engine rebuild in 2016 and that the braking system has been overhauled with new pads, rotors, and rebuilt calipers. More recently, an oil service was completed along with a rebuild of the shifter with a new bushing.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, a battery charger, a front bra cover, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is one of the nicest driving 911s I've driven in a long time. It does everything it is supposed to do. The car has been highly maintained and cared for with all the big things done like engine and clutch rebuild and braking system. Just needs someone to enjoy it and drive it.”

@Big-Guy no its just that glue gets all yellowish brownish that they used to mount those door jamb sills. There's no paintwork that I'm aware of.
Picture 38... is that rust color edge showing under the door jamb glue?
Any known paint work/repaint?

Bid in the amount of $10,000
@rmcmenamin to be honest I do not other than from what I can tell the previous owner was quite fastidious and did things to a high standard. The car drives absolutely amazing!
@bigvitty4u Do you why the engine needed a rebuild with so few miles on it?
