Now available for auction is this 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet finished in Venetian Blue Metallic over a Marine Blue leather interior. Offered for the first time during the 1987 model year, this Cabriolet is equipped with a refined G50 5-speed manual transmission providing for smooth and precise gear changes. After remaining garaged for some time, this 1987 example was recently purchased by its current owner who then carried out some significant mechanical and cosmetic improvements as well as full engine rebuild. Shown to be in excellent overall condition with approximately 88k miles on the odometer, this just may be the air-cooled Cabriolet you’ve been searching for.
The Venetian Blue Metallic paint is noted to be in great condition with the front hood and driver’s door professionally refinished earlier this year. The seller notes a new German-imported black cabriolet top was also recently installed. A collection of detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with paint meter readings. This Carrera rides on staggered 16” OEM Fuchs wheels which have been mounted with Hankook Ventus tires dated from 2018.
The exterior finish is complimented by a handsome Marine Blue leather upholstered cabin. The interior is reported to be in very good condition with a freshly reupholstered steering wheel and front seats. A new air conditioning system and compressor have also been installed along with an aftermarket radio head unit. All gauges and accessories are reported to be working properly.
An air-cooled 3.2 L flat-six engine sends approximately 217 HP to the rear wheels by way of a desirable G50 5-speed manual transmission. Within the last 2 months, a full engine rebuild was performed in addition to the following maintenance items:
The braking system has also been completely overhauled with new lines, calipers, pads and rotors. This 911 is said to be in fantastic driving condition with a 1-year warranty on the rebuilt motor.
The sale of this 911 will include a set of two keys, the original books, tools, spare tire, jack, a stamped maintenance book and a collection of service records. Do not miss your chance to get behind the wheel of this Carrera Cabriolet.

We are down to the last 3 hours of the auction. Thanks to all who have commented and called with questions. We just submitted 6 new images. 1 is of the rear seats. As mentioned before, there is some slight discoloration on the top left of the rear driver's side seat. We would be willing to professionally dye the rear seats at no extra cost to the winner. The other pics are of the undercarriage. As seen by the pics, the rear suspension is in good shape. No leaks or any signs of needing replacement. If the winner would like to replace them or any other parts, we would be willing to extend a great discount on either parts or service.
We would also like to mention that this car has a very extensive list of new parts. Even more than mentioned in the listing. CV Axles, Convertible Top Seals, Tail Light Lenses, Battery, Shifter Bushings, Oil Return Tubes, Center Caps, and much more. This is a rare opportunity to own a 911 G50 Cab with a 1 year warranty on the engine, has been gone through top to bottom by an experienced Porsche shop, and won't need any major repairs for a long time. Good luck with the auction!

Is it my imagination in pictures 66 - 68, that the back seat belt/seating/bolster area look very worn/dirty.
please clarify.
Thank you....

Hey, I see this is a Miami car! Hope it finds a home down here. I’d like to see it driving around. It’s lovely.
@911fanatic When these cars sit they tend to brake head studs after they get driving again. If you are going to do a top end, you might as well do a full engine rebuild. Nothing like driving these with a fresh engine. Not to mention the piece of mind!
Ahh, my first love, had a coupe the same colour, the same year. I miss that car.

Why the engine rebuild ?
Bid in the amount of $5,000
Bid in the amount of $550
@CurtGT3RS All of the work including the engine rebuild was conducted by us (Vertex Automotive in Miami FL) The suspension was in good condition. Front suspension images are in the gallery already and I'll shoot the rear suspension ASAP. Thank you!
Who did the engine rebuild? Also - seems like everything was done except the suspension parts. Can you add under carriage shots of the shocks etc and comment on the condition of the suspension? Many thanks.
Thank you all for looking and bidding. Feel free to ask any question or request more info / photos. This is truly a stunning G50 cab that needs nothing. We have gone though the car from top to bottom and is now ready to be enjoyed for a long time. PPIs and test drives are welcomed!
