Up for auction is this well-sorted 1987 911 Carrera finished in traditional Guards red over a black leather interior.  Marking the final iteration in the original 911 lineage, this G-series Carrera is equipped with a desirable G-50 5-speed manual transmission as well as a factory aero package.  Having spent its entire life in the Midwest up until the current owner’s purchase, this 1987 example carries a rebuilt and upgraded 3.4L engine and is now being offered for auction in turn-key condition by its seller in San Diego, CA.

The Guards Red finish on this Carrera is stated to be in excellent driver-grade condition.  The body of the car is straight with original VIN stickers remaining on all panels.  Exterior features include a factory aero package, Euro ride height and staggered 6/7” Fuchs wheels with hand painted center caps and Hankook tires.  This is a truly clean and well-sorted example.

This Carrera is appointed in a black leather interior which is said to remain in excellent condition only showing age-appropriate patina with all gauges, electronics and accessories fully functional.  The dashboard is completely intact and the interior retains its stock appearance with the exception of an upgraded head unit.

This Carrera carries a numbers-matching naturally aspirated flat-six engine that has been built-up from a 3.2L to a 3.4L displacement for increased horsepower and improved throttle response.  A recent $6k comprehensive service has been performed including new cam O-rings and seals, fresh gaskets and a full suspension and brake system refresh.  A copy of the recent service invoice will be provided in the photo gallery.  The seller has indicated that this Carrera passes stringent California emissions tests and runs beautifully.

A handful of notable service items include:

  • New Tie Rod Ends
  • Euro Ride Height Adjustment
  • Fresh Brake Lines, Rotors and Pads
  • New Heat Exchanger and Exhaust Port Gaskets
  • Fresh Oil Return Line
  • New Cam O-rings and Seals
  • New Chain Box Cover Gaskets
  • Rebuilt Cam Tensioners
  • Replaced Torsion Bars
  • New Bilstein B6 Yellow Rear Shocks
  • Full Alignment and Inspection

The sale of this remarkable 911 will include two keys, extensive records, original manuals, a stamp book, toolkit, and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.  This vehicle is accompanied by a clear title in the seller’s name and stands ready for a new home.

@driventexas the motor work was completed in 2006 when the car had 77k miles at a shop in Peoria IL called Kauth and Mayeur. Let me know if you have any other questions.
