Up for auction is a very straight, solid, and original 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet finished in Venetian Blue Metallic (L35U). The condition and originality of this example make it one that is sure to be extremely sought after. Originally sold new in NJ, the car quickly moved to NY with its second owner from the early 90’s until last year. The seller acquired this car from a local dealer within the past 6 months and decided to part with it due to lack of use. Just prior to his purchase, the dealer had carried out both cosmetic and mechanical service to the car to ensure that it is in top running condition and records of the work are shown in the gallery.
The seller states that this car has never endured any accident and believes the paint to be original. As seen in the gallery photos, the paint is in well above-average condition aside from some minor chips and scratches that an original car would endure. A brand-new, factory spec German canvas top was just installed to replace the original. The original factory Fuch wheels were just refinished and are wearing a set of new Dunlop DZ102 tires.
The partial blue leather interior is stated to be in excellent condition with well-below normal wear. The seller states that the dealer had the original front seats dyed to bring the interior to the next level. Only one minor crack in the passenger seat and dash are present and shown in the gallery photos. All electronics work as they should including the original VDO instruments.
Power comes from the standard 3.2-liter flat-six engine and is paired with the iconic G50 5-speed manual transmission. The vehicle is mechanically stock and is in excellent running condition. The following items were addressed in Feb of 2019:
In 1966 Porsche introduced the 911 Targa, a hybrid between a convertible and a coupe. It wasn’t until 1983 that Porsche introduced a cabriolet for the US market. The 87-89 versions with the G50 transmissions are the final years and most sorted iteration of the G-body 911.
This G50 Carrera is being sold with a clean Carfax, original books, recent records and two sets keys.

@job Well @job, It was 8 months ago, so not as funny now. But you’ve heard of Job (as in Book of Job) and his trials, tribulations, long suffering, right? That’s what was funny.
What’s even better is that you ended up with this fine car, so suffering averted! Good job @job!

Hi,
1. Where is the car located? And which days and times are good to see it?
2. Did you proceed with a leak oil test and compression test ?
3. Are your receipts from day one ? If not what are the maintenance receipts “gaps”?
