Featuring a desirable G50 5-speed manual transmission introduced for the 1987 model year, this Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet comes finished in Cassis Red Metallic over Burgundy leather. It was sold new in California where it has remained under the care of its original owner while always maintained by the same local Porsche specialist. This Carrera is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California showing just over 60k miles on the odometer.
A new color for the 1987 model year, this Carrera was ordered in the rare and desirable shade of Cassis Red Metallic (L80D). The car wears a power-operated Burgundy cabriolet top and tonneau cover as well as a front chin spoiler and factory 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels in a custom polished/painted finish. The finish is described to have been very well preserved throughout the years, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is trimmed in Burgundy leather upholstery with matching carpets and optional equipment including a steering wheel with elevated hub, automatic heating control, cruise control, and a central locking system. The car also came optioned with intensified windscreen washers, headlamp washers, and premium velour carpeting in the luggage compartment. The sound system was upgraded with aftermarket speakers as well as an Alpine head unit and trunk-mounted amplifier.
The air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine produces up to 217 HP and drives the rear wheels through a G50 5-speed manual gearbox. All service is said to have been carried out by the same technician at SGS Porsche of San Luis Obispo and the seller reports no outstanding maintenance items at this time.
This sale will include a clean title.

@Selo The car doesn't need anything. No leaks as you can see from the underside photos. The car has always been extremely well maintained. I don't see it needing anything over the next couple years but who knows.
Does the car have any leakage or seepage underneath?
Any deferred maintenance?
What might need to be done within the next 1-2 yrs?

@davethewave911 The car has been serviced and maintained by Guy Ober of SGS Porsche from new. The owner of the car says she has records she will need to dig up but I have spoken with Guy and he has records in his system that go back to 2012. The car does come with owners manuals and Keys.
I say $1 per mile.

Great looking car. Have you done a leak down test on the cylinders? Thanks, GLWTA
The tweeters can't possibly be in metal. There are six blowers and other heater gear behind the carpeted shell. The metal below the lower dash is flush with the sill edge.
You can see factory cat in the exhaust pictures with original sill in place.
This auction would certainly benefits from some paint thickness measurements and a picture of the dating on the back of the speedometer.
Was this Izzy’s vehicle?
Is the cat converter still on the car?
Wow, just wow. This is a stunning color combo. I had never seen cassis red in person, but when saw one listed in Glen Cove, NY, with exact same specs ('87 wi burg interior and full tonneau) I stopped by to see it and fell in love. Being long '86 and '89 G-bodies already, and a parsimonious wife, it nagged at me not to buy it on the spot. But when I finally went back a few months later, I was sad to hear it had been caught in Hurricane IDA waters and damaged beyond repair. Second perhaps to Stephanie Powers' midnight blue M470 cab, which is the ultimate iteration of the generation, this is my dream car. And the mileage is just perfect, another 100-150k should come easily to the new owner.
That said, those front tweeter mounts (usually added to door panels over the mains) are odd and might compromise body integrity? Agree wi @legendary we need pics of the top up, as I just put a new one on my '89 at a cost over $3k. And what I'm guessing is a radar detector on top of the ET light in the back is hilarious. GLWA!
@justinbsc What is the condition of the top? Will you post a couple photos or the car with the top up?
