Finished in Guards Red over a Linen and Black partial leather interior, this 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet marks the inaugural year of the desirable G50 manual gearbox. It came factory equipped with a central locking system, alarm system, cruise control, and forged alloy wheels. Acquired by the current owner over 17 years ago, this 911 has since been maintained to a very high standard including a complete refurbishment of the interior in 2018 and major engine-out service in 2021 along with a pre-purchase inspection by Porsche Minneapolis. Showing approximately 94k miles on the odometer, this Carrera Cabriolet is now being offered by its seller out of Minnesota accompanied by a numbers matching Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
Finished in traditional Guards Red with a black soft top, this Carrera features red-painted brake calipers tucked behind factory 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels. The car rides on a set of Dunlop Direzza R88K tires and benefits from a recent full professional detailing and paint correction. Evidence of paintwork is noted on the passenger side, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report showing damage to the right side in 1999.
The Linen and Black partial leather interior was completely refurbished by Diamond Interiors of Minneapolis in 2018 including new front seat upholstery and padding as well as new carpeting and re-dyed plastics. Factory equipment includes air-conditioning, an alarm system, a central locking system, cruise control, and a power cabriolet top mechanism. The updated Porsche/Becker head unit is paired with an amplifier and 10” subwoofer mounted beneath the passenger seat. The soft top rear window was replaced early on during the current ownership.
The air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine produces up to 217 HP and drives the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox. An engine-out service was performed in 2021 including replacement of the engine pad, fuel lines, ignition wires, cylinder head sensor, oxygen sensor, and speed sensor, along with some cracked exterior lenses. A fluid service was also performed at this time as well as a compression test with results provided in the photo gallery.
This sale will include a clean title, owner's manuals, and service records.

@zollerm Car is for sale! There is a buy now button at the bottom of your screen :)
Ma'am, Is the car still for sale?
Hello everyone, thanks for looking at my listing. This is a fantastic 911 I've owned for 17+ years, but life changes and I'm ready to move on to a Pcar with a hard top :)
There is no rust on the car. It only sees roads from May-October, and from all indications it wasn’t driven in winter before my ownership. The paintwork that was done on the passenger side was before I owned the car and I don't know the details, but the work is done to an excellent standard. I will note that the A/C engages and functions but does not blow cold. It may just need a recharge, but I've not looked into it as the top down is my A/C in Minnesota. Everything else on the car works as it should.
Following is a summary of items repaired under my ownership. I’ve always done an annual oil service regardless of miles. All of my mechanical work is done by a local wrench who is RUF-certified and I’ve known him since my first Audi back in the 90s. I only have a single service invoice from before I bought the car but I do have all of my records and will include them in the sale.
2004 – 75k service
2008 – Brake caliper rebuilt
2011 – CV boot
2012 – Fuel pump
2014 – DME relay, 90k service
2015 – Battery, tires, fuel sending relay
2017 – Sway bar bracket, throttle linkage assembly replaced
2018 – Shift lever ball socket, rod bushing, battery, install trickle charger
2021 – Compression test, fuel lines, spark plugs wires, cylinder head sensor, oxygen sensor, and speed sensor, engine pad
The interior is minty fresh and looks like it just came off the factory line in 1987 - my detailer will attest as such! The updated Porsche/Becker head unit is from Becker Auto Sound and has an updated display and a Bluetooth module (stream only, no phone).
Happy to answer any questions on this G50 cab. Thanks again for looking!
