Finished in premium Marine Blue Metallic paint over a matching blue leather interior, this 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet was delivered to Mayo Motors, Inc. of Southampton, New York, equipped with several optional amenities as well as the rarely seen Turbo-Look package (M491) without spoilers (M470). It was purchased new by Stefanie Powers, actress best known for her role as Jennifer Hart on the television series Hart to Hart, then shipped back to California where it has remained under her care ever since while being garage-kept and regularly maintained. Benefitting from over $6k worth of fresh service carried out in preparation for sale, this rare M470 Cabriolet is being offered on behalf of its original owner out of California showing under 28k miles on the odometer.
This 911 was ordered in Marine Blue Metallic (L35V), a new color for the 1987 model year. Equipment includes a matching blue cabriolet top and tonneau cover, integrated front fog lights, black stone guard decals, and 16” Fuchs alloy wheels dressed in Dunlop tires. The rare Turbo-Look package (M491) without spoilers (M470) equips the wide fenders associated with the 911 Turbo but without the rubber front chin spoiler or large Tea Tray rear decklid, providing a sleek appearance similar to the 911 Speedster. The seller believes the passenger-side door may have been previously refinished and notes the paint to be in very good condition given the age of the car, showing typical signs of road wear and some fine swirl marks throughout. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this Carrera sports premium Marine Blue leather (SW) upholstery as well as optional power door locks, automatic heat control, cruise control, an alarm, floor mats, and an elevated steering wheel hub. The cabin is described to have been very well kept with all gauges and accessories remaining fully functional including an aftermarket radio.
The 1987 model year saw the introduction of the 5-speed G50 manual gearbox for the 911 Carrera as well as increased power for U.S. specification engines. The 3.2L flat-six in this example delivers as much as 217 HP and 195 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Accompanying service records show most maintenance was carried out through Porsche dealers and the seller notes a $6,600 service has just been completed including a new clutch and tie rods.
This sale will include a collection of documents, the original purchase invoice, and a clean title.

@vocaldrone have you seen the car? Has it had a PPI?
@Wscottrob This car surely does not need my defense because it is stunning. but the wear on seats are absolutely consistent with mileage.
Also Until I looked at this listing closely, I didn’t notice it was a factory wide body!! Wow. Very special car indeed.
@Wscottrob I am sorry with 4 hours left in auction . I don't think I can make it to the car in time take a video transfer to my you tube ( that my 13 year daughter had to do for me) and up load . The car has 27k miles and has been driven for the last 35 year with the top up and down . The steering wheel does show wear . But it appear very minor. The seats I thought looks really good . Maybe you want to private message me and we can go over the car in detail before you bid on the car .

A walk around video with close ups of paint concern areas(rock chips etc), the upholstery, and any areas we would see if viewing in person will help. Please do it in the sun. For instance, the driving video shows som wear on the leather steering wheel. Seats seem worn for 28k Thanks!

@TheGerman I am away with my family ( disneyland) I am trying to answer all questions from my phone . I have the resent service on my phone . Could you private message me , then I could send the invoice to your phone or I should be able to do it tonight . I am not sure about why pcm did not upload. Also tire questions were answered in another comment. As for service . I will have to take close up photos of invoices . If you look at car fax. You will see some Beverly Hill porsche service and center audi / porsche . There was also service done at non dealer porsche mechanic
I will open service book up and take pics
Tomorrow
@Ottorocket I appologize I am away with my family . The soonest I could put cover on would be tomorrow and I don't think I can get pics loaded in time . They both appear new and never mounted
@TheGerman:
Seller is correct, pictures 120 and 121 actually do show the production
date codes of the tires as a 4 digit item:
3415 is the 34th week of 2015
und
4415 is the 44th week of 2015
Warum weiß du daß nicht???
@bigmikesims can you please post photo with boot cover snapped in?
@ bigmikesims (seller)
Ok, thx for the answers; but here comes some new questions to your response:
(See questions under your responses:)
1) i just uploaded a copy of the last invoice ( it may take PCM some time to upload to auction)
Up to now I cannot find any pic of the invoice
2) i believe pic 120 and 121 is the info you require , one is front tire the other is rear . they are the same info for the ones not pictured
Pic 120 and 121 show only a internal number of the place of production.
But at every single tire you must be able to find a oval like in your mentioned pics BUT with some digits such as 0521 or 0317, this would mean date of production had been: "May 2021" or March 2017.
3) the only stamp i saw was on pic 102 ,
this means, that no single maintenance during 35 years had been made in a PORSCHE garage?? Or are there existing some records of the maintenaces in a PORSCHE garage during these years??
4) to the best of my knowledge it has not been converted yet , but i can call mechanic on Monday to confirm.
Ok, so I'm waiting for Monday
Thx again

@bigmikesims (seller)
May I beg you for some pics:
1. the last invoice of the last maintenance over USD 6,000
2. the speedindex and the DOT (year of manufacturing/week-year) of the tires
3. a copy of the stamped maintenance boklett
4. is the refrigerant of the A/C already converted to R134a?
Thx a lot
in response to the stance , i just uploaded 2 new photos , the stance looks like the car settled after coming off the lift . its looks good to me , but you can make your decision . in response to the paint , the paint in great condition for being 35 years old car . i took a pictures of the drivers door edge and a chip on the front bumper . i dont know how else to describe it. i highly encourage you to come see the car in person , send a PPI , or even a friend in the area to look at the car . you can also private message me to call and go over the car in detail ,
Bid in the amount of $39,470
@bigmikesims- unfortunately that’s the No-answer, answer regarding paint condition. If you own a body shop you should be particularly suited to rate the condition of the paint…I understand your”10” is concourse, but some rating from you would be helpful. Along with are there any dings, scratches, dents noteworthy of mention. Please be a bit more specific I think it gives bidders a better sense of what we’re potentially bidding on. Also, are you willing to have a PPI done on the car at bidders expense before the end of the auction
Thx in advance
Bid in the amount of $32,500
@356rehab i am not a dealer ,. I am just listing the car for my friend the original owner , she is out of the country currently . the car is currently stored in a classic car warehouse . I will try to go there and take some photos to show the stance . As for the paint . I am a car enthusiast. I have had a auto body restoration shop for 25 years . my 10 scale is pebble beach perfection . its very hard for me to rate this car . the paint in very good condition for its age . it has some minor rock chips and micro impression in the front from sand and debris . the rest of the car has swirls from the years and years of car washes . we decided against doing a heavy buffing . i would rather down play the paint , that says its amazing . i would tell you that i would not touch this paint , just drive the car and enjoy it .
Bid in the amount of $31,000
@bigmikesims- would you please rate the quality of the paint 1-10? Also, agree with other bidders, if would be really helpful to see new pictures of the cars stance to see if it’s settled back to normal ride height
Lastly I see you’re listed as a dealer would you please share the name of your dealership…
Thx in advance!
@bigmikesims Makes sense. An updated photo or two would be appreciated.
@ScooterMC I had answered the question directly to the person I did not realize it would not post here. The car had Just came off the rack for undercarriage photos . It seems to have settled .
I see that the question was asked regarding ride height but I did not see a reply. Any insight regarding this would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps the rear shocks/struts were changed out and subsequently not set down to correct height.
i just uploaded the paint depth meter on the car . Initially i thought drivers door was repainted but the meter seemed to be consistent all around , except the hood . The hood shows 7.3 mil . i am not sure if this is with in spec
this is the first car i have put a paint meter on . maybe someone can chime in to say what is normal ? cold start walk around and driving videos uploading now. I just drove the car this afternoon and its drives really nice , the new clutch feels great . I encourage you to come see the car in person or send a qualified Porsche inspector to come see it
Any pics with the tonneau cover fitted? Looks like you have it in the frunk. Cold start and driving videos would also be appreciated.
Bid in the amount of $30,000
@rhmoritz . We just had car on the lift for the undercarriage photos. It has not been driven since. I plan on doing a couple of videos today or tomorrow. Then we can see if the back settles
Bid in the amount of $25,000
Bid in the amount of $20,000
Can seller comment on suspension settings? Appears to be elevated particularly in the rear.
Beautiful car!
Bid in the amount of $5,000
