We are pleased to present this 1987 Mercedes-Benz R107 560SL finished in Light Ivory over a brown leather interior. Sporting the top trim level available at the time, this 1987 560SL version features the larger 5.6L V8 along with automatic air conditioning, cruise control, and other standard amenities. This SL is said to have been cared for by two prior owners in Colorado and was recently treated to a major service including all new belts, fluids, and a water pump replacement. Now with approximately 69k miles showing on the odometer, this classic 560SL is being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
The exterior comes finished in Light Ivory with a matching removable hardtop and retractable cabriolet roof. Additional features include North American market quad headlamps, front fog lights, chrome-trimmed bumpers, window moldings, and mirror caps. This SL rides on factory 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels dressed in a set of Michelin tires. The seller notes only minor stone chips and imperfections throughout the exterior, additional images are provided in the gallery.
The seats come trimmed in brown leather with matching door panels, carpeting, and decorative wood veneers. Equipment includes automatic air-conditioning, cruise control, a locking glove box, power windows, and an original Becker Grand Prix radio. The seller notes minor stretching of the seat bolster material and reports all gauges and accessories to be working properly.
Power comes from a 5.6L M117 V8 which was factory rated at 227 HP and 279 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a four-speed automatic transmission. The 560SL was factory equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes as standard. Recent service is said to include all new belts, a comprehensive fluid flush, a new water pump, and new radiator hoses.
This sale will include a clean title. Equipped with the largest engine available in the North American market, this recently serviced 560SEL makes an excellent choice for any enthusiast in search of a classic European roadster.
