The first-generation BMW M3 (E30) was introduced in 1986 as a homologation model built to satisfy Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) production requirements. This 1987 European-market example was initially delivered in Switzerland and imported to the United States in 2022. It is finished in Alpine White over grey upholstery with houndstooth cloth inserts and powered by a 2.3-liter S14 inline-four engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional features include aerodynamic bodywork, 15” basketweave wheels, a sunroof, and upgrades such as an aftermarket front sway bar, H&R springs, and Bilstein dampers. Showing approximately 181k kilometers or 112k miles on the odometer, this M3 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.
Sharing few body panels with the standard 3-Series, the E30 M3 is distinguished by its boxed fender flares, model-specific rocker panels and valances, and a lightweight fiberglass trunk lid with an integrated rear wing. This example is finished in Alpine White and features aero mirrors, front fog lights, an electric sunroof, a dual exhaust outlet, and 15” basketweave wheels mounted with Vredestein Sprint tires. The seller notes the trunk lid was refinished to correct a scratch. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, grey houndstooth cloth adorns the seats and door panels, complemented with grey upholstery and matching carpeting. Accessories include a three-spoke M-Tech 1 steering wheel, analog VDO instrumentation, a dogleg shift pattern, an onboard computer, cruise control, power windows & door locks, and a BMW Bavaria cassette stereo.
Powered by a 2.3-liter S14 inline-four with dual overhead camshafts and individual throttle bodies, the E30 M3 delivers power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed Getrag dog-leg manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. In 2022, service included an oil change, transmission service, differential fluid replacement, and the installation of a new air filter, fuel filter, distributor rotor and cap, ignition wires, and spark plugs. The front and rear suspension were also overhauled at this time, and the brake system received new hoses, rotors, and pads. Modifications include a lowered suspension setup with H&R springs, Bilstein dampers, and an aftermarket front sway bar featuring ECS Tuning billet aluminum mounts and polyurethane bushings.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a spare tire, an air pump, and sales literature.

@JMarion Hey, The car was sitting for a while so it could be some seepage, i don't think it's anything concerning. No oil or fluids are collecting under the car.

@EuroM3 Thank you for the reply. In picture #140 is that oil on the steering rack below the U joint?
Yes this Euro E30 has the close ratio "dogleg" gearbox where 1st gear is down and to the left.
@EuroM3 Just to clarify the dogleg description for the transmission. Does this have the close ratio sport gearbox where 1st is down and to the left?

I bought the car last year and haven't driven it much. I'm moving west so i decided to sell it. As far as i know that is the original fog light switch. The car didn't come with A/C from new.
Looks good for its mileage. are you the original owner? how long have you had it. is that original foglight switch? does everything work? and does it have AC?
Up for sale is my 1987 BMW Euro M3—an iconic classic with over $20K in recent, documented service. This E30 has been meticulously maintained with all new bushings, brakes, suspension, and tires. It features a rare factory houndstooth interior that sets it apart from the rest. A true driver’s car that runs every bit as good as it looks. Thanks for checking it out!
