Produced from 1986 to 1991, the first-generation (E30) BMW M3 was a purpose-built homologation car designed to meet Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) production requirements, ultimately cementing its status as one of the most iconic sports cars of all time. This European-market 1987 M3, finished in Alpine White over grey houndstooth cloth upholstery, was imported to the U.S. by the seller approximately three years ago. It has since received servicing by the specialists at Gaswerks Garage and is now being offered for auction out of New Jersey with just under 180k kilometers (114k miles) on the odometer.

The E30 M3 shares few body panels with the standard 3-series and is distinguishable by its boxed fender flares, rocker panels, model-specific valences, and lightweight fiberglass trunk lid with a fixed wing. This M3 comes finished in Alpine White and rides on factory 15” basketweave wheels. The seller adds that new Vredestein tires were fitted and the wipers were replaced by Gaswerks Garage. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, grey houndstooth cloth adorns the seats and door panels, complemented with black upholstery and grey carpeting. Equipment includes manually adjustable front sport seats, a leather-wrapped M steering wheel & shift knob, analog VDO instrumentation, air conditioning, an AM/FM/cassette radio, a power sunroof, an onboard computer, and power windows & door locks. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order.

Powered by a 2.3-liter S14 inline-four engine with individual throttle bodies, the E30 M3 sends power to its rear wheels by way of a 5-speed Getrag dog-leg manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller adds that maintenance was performed by Gaswerks Garage, including an oil change, a gearbox service, the replacement of the brakes, an alignment, and the installation of a new fuel filter, cabin air filter, and shocks.

This sale will include a clean title and a toolkit.

The seller would like you to know: “This is a fully stock European M3 with all services up-to-date.”
