Up for auction is this 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo finished in Black over a black partial leather interior. This launch-year 944 Turbo was first registered to a John F. Kennedy in Massachusetts where it remained up until 2019 before moving to Florida. Having since undergone extensive service including replacements of the timing belt, water pump, clutch master cylinder, and power steering pump, this 944 is now being offered for auction by its third owner out of Florida showing just over 99k miles on the odometer.
This 944 comes finished in Black (L041) and rides on 993-style 17” Cup 2 wheels dressed in Continental Extreme Contact tires. Compared to a standard 944, the Turbo features an aerodynamically improved nose with integrated front fog lights along with a body-color diffuser below the rear bumper. The seller describes some paint chips on the front end and notes the car had earned awards at concours events in the past. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black partial leather interior has been customized with a leather-wrapped three-spoke MOMO steering wheel. The original Blaupunkt radio remains in place and the seller reports all gauges and accessories are working properly. The factory specifications label includes the following equipment codes:
The turbocharged and intercooled 2.5L inline four-cylinder engine produces as much as 220 HP and 243 lb.-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. The 944 Turbo comes standard with a reinforced gearbox, external oil coolers, a slightly stiffer suspension, and fixed 4-piston brakes borrowed from the 911. The seller reports the timing belt, balance shaft belt, and water pump were replaced in January of 2019 at 82k miles. Service carried out by Parkhaus of Miami in April of 2021 included the replacement of the clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, and brake fluid. Another service carried out by Stokes Automotive also included a new power steering pump, windshield washer motor, fuel pressure regulator, and battery.
This sale will include the original owner's book and a clean title. Maintained by the original owner for most of its life and treated to considerable recent service, this 1987 Turbo may very well be the 951 you've been searching for.

Owner is a complete stud along with the car. Seen this car in person and wow, don't know what looks better. Perfectly maintained, both the car and the owner. Whoever gets there hands on it is a lucky man. The car would be a great purchase to. Happy bidding!
@Sds130 The hooks were there when I purchased the car from the previous owner. I believe this may have been part of a 4 point harness type seatbelt.
What are the hooks in the back seat where the seatbelts should be?
To clarify questions about the wheels, the 86 was unique in that it is the only year of the turbo (951) where ABS was not available. Therefore, it is the only year that can support standard 16" Fuchs. The 16" Fuchs would not clear the ABS brakes on the 87 and beyond. That said, the brakes here appear to be upgraded and I'm not sure how that impacts wheel choice. That may be the reason for the 17" cup wheels. I have owned my 86 951 for 17 years. Truly fantastic cars. GLWA!

I know the owner of this car and how well he takes care of his rides. He has several porsches in his garage besides this one (997TT, 964), all of them in pristine condition. I would bid with confidence. GLWA
Beautiful car. Looks very clean and well maintained. Happy Bidding.
Hatchback & Boosted ?? Beautiful 944 Turbo
I have seen this beautiful 944 on several occasions at local porsche meets and drives. It’s impeccable. I met the owner abd can attest to his dedication and care for the car. One of the nicest 944’s I have seen in a long time. Truly collector quality.
I have seen this car a few times at cars events. It’s a beautiful 944 Turbo, better yet, sellers are a wonderful and honorable South Florida family. Rest assured that no detail has been overlooked and every one of those details has been carried through to extremely high standards. Winning bidder will not be disappointed . GLWTA
@GabrielPDC a search revealed a John Francis not John Fitzgerald at that address. Nice car though. I had a black on black '89 and a slate grey '88. Loved them.
@rickb20 Hello @rickb20 . All I know is that the first owner reads John F. Kennedy from MA. I did a bit of online research to try and find out if it’s Jr but didn’t get anywhere.
I thought you couldn’t put Cup wheels on the ‘86s because they had different hubs than ‘87 and beyond 951s?
@Rickb20. Should be able to check the address on the records to see if it was JFK Jrs. Especially where it sat between his death in 1999 and 2019.
The original owner was John F. Kennedy from MA? As in John John?
