Topping the 944 model range, the Porsche 944 Turbo launched in 1985 with a powerful forced-induction engine along with aerodynamically enhanced bodywork. This 1986 example comes finished in the rare shade of Garnet Red Metallic over a special-order Champagne leather interior and features a removable sunroof panel and a limited-slip differential among other factory add-ons. This 944 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona showing approximately 68k miles on the odometer.
This example is presented in a rarely seen Garnet Red Metallic (S2). The Turbo receives a more rounded aerodynamic nose than a standard 944 along with a body-colored rear diffuser. A set of 993 Turbo-style wheels have been mounted with Continental Extreme Contact tires from 2020, and the original 16” Phone Dial wheels are said to accompany the sale. The seller notes minor imperfections and signs of road-going wear, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with Champagne special leather upholstery contrasted with dark brown along the upper dashboard, center console, and door panels. Optional equipment includes a removable sunroof panel, cruise control, and a rear wiper. An upgraded Blaupunkt radio has been fitted and the seller notes some wear on the seats, bolsters, and floormats. The seller also reports all gauges and accessories are working properly, and the air conditioning unit was rebuilt in 2022.
This 944 Turbo equips a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine which is rated at 220 HP. Power is distributed to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller adds that the timing belt and water pump were refreshed in 2021, and the front and rear brakes were replaced in 2022. A CARFAX report showing detailed recent service records is provided in the gallery.
This sale will include a clean title, sales literature, owner’s manuals, a tool kit, a sunroof bag, and the original 16” Phone Dial wheels.
The seller would like you to know: "Thank you for visiting my auction for this beautiful 944 turbo. I was really drawn to the color combination, cleanliness, and overall condition of this legendary turbo 944. It has not disappointed me and has been a great car for both sport driving and car shows. At 67,000 miles the engine is barely broken in and ready to be enjoyed by the next owner with all maintenance fully up-to-date."

Question was just asked again how long I could store the car once the transaction is completed; I can keep it until the end of June if that helps. It would be stored on a lift with a car cover and on a trickle charger so would be taken care of.
Also asked about the closest airport which is Shy Harbor in Phoenix and is about 30 minutes away. I do recommend flying in and driving her home as that is the best way to experience the fun and excitement of acquiring a new (to you) Porsche! That said, not everyone can take time off that easily so of course I am happy to assist in any transportation coordination.

The final hour is upon us and it's been a great experience so thank you all for participating. This 944 Turbo is beautiful inside and out, has all maintenance up-to-date including the timing belt and new brakes all around. The A/C was rebuilt and works great. The Conti tires are recent with only a couple thousand miles on them and the original phone dial wheels are included. She doesn't need a thing and I'd trust her to drive across country today. Please let me know if you have any questions and thank you for your interest!!!

@SDSU1993 - and all brake rotors and pads were replaced about 150 miles ago.
@cgolseth - good catch. The wiper arm was loose which is why it was out of position. I have since tightened the nut and positioned it correctly. I've just uploaded a quick video demonstrating it working. Here is a link: https://youtu.be/rl3CUXuFZtM
Bid in the amount of $20,951
Looks like the front rotors have been upgrade too, but nothing wrong with that.
Bid in the amount of $20,000
Rear wiper should rest vertically I’m pretty sure, do we know if that is operational?
Welcome to the final day of the auction for this unique and beautiful 951. Thank you all for taken it really easy on me so far!!! That said, I will be available and with the car the last few hours of the auction so will be ready for any questions or comments.
Bid in the amount of $17,951
Thanks for the interest and bidding guys...this is a very clean 951 that drives nice and tight with all maintenance up to date. She'd be a great addition to anyone's stable.

@jwcrowell - Thanks...I am very happy with them...they are Advantage DX-9000-HD lifts. I've had the less expensive generic black lifts in the past but they always had leaks and wobbled too much for my comfort, so I spent a bit more on these which have been working flawlessly for 3 years now.
@tg1020 - Sure...I am available tomorrow and Thursday...contact me via the "contact seller" tab below the information box and we can connect.
@tg1020 please send the seller a message via the contact seller button to exchange info and arrange the inspection.
@Giediprime Love the garage setup. Can I ask what make/model of lifts those are? Thanks
I am local and would like to come see your vehicle. Can we schedule that for today or tomorrow? Thanks TG
@jlking964 - Yes, the factory workshop manuals are included with the car.
Good afternoon. I was able access the car today and get some pictures of the rear window edges, paint meter numbers, and the front fog lights turned on. I also confirmed that the front and rear wipers work as does the cruise control. Lastly, I did share with a caller that I am happy to store the car for a month or two after the auction if needed. Let me know what else I can answer.

Very nice presentation and beautiful 944 Turbo. Question, your photo gallery shows a set of "Work Shop Manuals" assume these are included in the sale of your vehicle?
@Giediprime Can you let me know where the cars are located. Thanks again.
@stupendous - All lights, gauges, power options, and HVAC work as designed. I need to check the rear wiper (and front wipers) as I have never used them, and I'll take a few pictures of the rear window and post them for your review. I'll have those up by tomorrow.
@dicksanderson - I am available tomorrow to show the cars from 9-11:30am and 2-4pm.
Bid in the amount of $16,201
Bid in the amount of $15,951
Nice car! Is there anything that doesn't work, gauges, AC, rear wiper, sunroof, etc? Is there any delamination of the rear windshield? Thanks
Bid in the amount of $10,000
@Billythemountain - Thank you and yes, the color combination sold me on it. I also was surprised how good the Turbo twist wheels look...I normally do not like more modern wheels on older models, but these work. I believe I am the third owner. The PO owned it since the early 2000s and he said he purchased in from the original owner. Thanks for your interest.
@jwcrowell - Pictures 104-113 show very light corrosion on some of the suspension components. They don't need any treatment as-is (AZ is a dry climate) but if you plan to drive the car in a wet or humid environment, they could benefit from a product like POR15 to keep them from degrading.
@Giedeiprime
Regarding the corrosion underneath that you mentioned in your driving video, has that been adressed/mitigated in any way? And where specifically has any corrosion been found? Thanks!
Bid in the amount of $1,000
Lovely car, I'll be watching this one as have a 930 from the same yr with the same color combo down to the two-tone leather interior. The turbo twists look surprisingly good as well. May I ask how many different owners?
@Elitemotorcar Never mind. I found it was done in 2021 after another look. Good
Luck with the sale.
I do not see a timing belt/water pump service record anywhere. When was the last time the timing belt was replaced?
@seller
Could you provide paint meter readings?
“At 67,000 miles the engine is barely broken in” 😂
Hello and thank you for checking out my 944 auction. I am selling this beautiful 944 Turbo and a very clean 911 SC on Pcarmarket as I am losing my storage space this summer and unfortunately need to let go a portion of my collection. This is my first time using this venue but I have bought and sold several cars online and am happy to provide any additional photos or videos that anyone needs. Please reach out to me with any requests or questions. Thanks for checking my 944 out!
