Utilizing motorsport-proven technology, the 944 Turbo was added to Porsche’s model range in 1986, featuring a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four engine, a reinforced 5-speed manual transaxle, revised aerodynamic bodywork, 911-derived brakes, and a stiffened suspension. This launch-year example was sold new in Pennsylvania and comes factory-finished in Alpine White over a Black leatherette interior with Porsche script cloth seat centers. It features optional protective side moldings, air conditioning, cruise control, an alarm system, an electric sunroof, upgraded Boston Acoustic speakers, and 16” Fuchs alloy wheels. This 944 Turbo was purchased by the current owner in 2015 and kept mostly in storage, accumulating approximately 250 miles during that time. Benefitting from a recent major service including a new timing belt, water pump, fuel lines, and tires, this 944 Turbo is now being offered for auction out of California with less than 50k miles showing on the odometer.
Compared to a standard Porsche 944, the Turbo model can be identified by its aerodynamically revised front fascia and body-colored rear diffuser. This example is finished in Alpine White and rides on 16” Fuchs alloy wheels with new Continental tires. Other equipment includes pop-up headlights, headlamp washers, integrated fog lights, an electric sunroof, heated power mirrors, and a heated rear window. The exterior is believed to have been previously refinished, and the seller indicates the paint, rubber seals, and window felts are all in outstanding condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Black interior features leatherette seats with Porsche script cloth inserts, a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, power windows and door locks, automatic climate control, cruise control, an alarm system, upgraded Boston Acoustic speakers, and an aftermarket head unit. The seller notes that the air conditioning system was recently recharged and all gauges and accessories are functional, although the tachometer requires a tap to work upon startup. Additionally, a MOMO steering wheel will accompany the sale.
Equipped with a water-cooled turbocharger, an intercooler, ceramic port liners, and forged pistons, the 2.5-liter inline-four engine was factory-rated at 220 HP and 243 lb-ft of torque. A reinforced 5-speed manual transaxle distributes power to the rear wheels, and stopping is handled by 911-derived fixed 4-piston brakes. Recent service is said to include a new timing belt, water pump, tensioners, fuel lines, an oil change, and new fluids. Maintenance records are said to be available dating back to the original ownership.
This sale will include the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, a MOMO steering wheel, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is truly a fantastic car, not just in its mostly original condition, but it is a blast to drive. Slated to replace the 911, these front-engine transaxle cars are becoming very popular and are hard to find in original condition. This is a turnkey collector/driver. Hop in and go, the car needs nothing. All recent services and any deferred maintenance have been addressed. The car is straight, and the interior is like new. The only thing missing is the Blaupunkt.”

@Snolvr Yes, i can upload some videos.
A video of the engine bay? How about a cold start or driving video? Thanks
@Spyder21 The textured rockers/door sills look to be original paint, and yes they are showing their age.
To present the car honestly as always, There have been many questions or concerns about the paint and or its condition. When I first received the car I honestly thought it was original paint. The records indicate that the front end was repainted for rock chips. There is no record of a total paint job. Upon inspection it is nearly perfect. Could use a polish and ceramic or PPF for longevity.
The gaps are sound, looking inside the car, there is no evidence of any accidents. No orange peel or mismatched panels. No overspray on trim or undercarriage. In other words the paint is in excellent condition. There is some degradation on the textured rocker panels.
@elvis119 Would you please comment on the condition of the paint under the door sill in picture 38?

@elvis119 Thank You - very nice 944
@california3.2 Factory wheel is currently installed.
@california3.2 The radio and speakers are not factory. There is one small and simple mod under the hood. A device that apparently delays boost on the turbo for performance enhancement. You can see it in the photos as the red and blue anodized part. Simple to replace if necessary. Was on the car previous to current ownership. Otherwise the rest of the car is all factory.
Is anything else on the car non-stock or non-original besides the radio, speakers and steering wheel?
@blpski yes. Forgot to take it down. Thank you for reminding me.
