This 1986 Porsche 928S is a mid-year or “1986.5” production model that benefits from improved brakes and suspension derived from the later 928 S4 version. Finished in Black over a matching leather interior, this 928 is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 mated to a five-speed manual transaxle and features a sunroof, power-adjustable front bucket seats, air conditioning, and more. Originally delivered as a North American market example, this 928S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Norway showing approximately 78k miles on the odometer.
The 928S distinguishes itself from a standard 928 by its black polyurethane front and rear spoilers. This example comes finished in Black (700) and equipment includes pop-up headlights, headlight washers, an electric sunroof, body side moldings, a rear window wiper, dual exhaust tips, and silver 16” seven-hole alloy wheels wrapped in Falken Ziex tires from 2021. The seller reports having removed the US-spec bumperettes and fitting a Euro rear bumper, along with having painted the side marker lights black. It is also noted that the car was previously partially resprayed. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings, and a clean CARFAX report dating up to the time of export in 2011.
The cabin is equipped with Black leather seats, along with matching door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, power windows, power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, and a Blaupunkt Monterey cassette stereo. Additional options include the Sound System and an additional amplifier. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to function as intended, with no warning lights present.
Powered by a fuel-injected 5.0-liter DOHC V8 engine, the 928S sends up to 288 HP and 302 lb.-ft of torque to its rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. The seller has reportedly installed a set of Koni sports shocks and lowering springs, as well as an RMB kit for a more pronounced exhaust note. Additionally, this 928 is said to have received a major service on May 25, 2024, that included the replacement of the timing belt, water pump, and rollers, along with an oil and filter change. The seller states this is a numbers-matching car, with engine #81G00726 and transmission #11G05678.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, its original bumperettes, and a clean title.
