This 1986 Porsche 928S is a mid-year or “1986.5” production model that features the improved brakes and suspension of the later 928 S4 version. It comes finished in Iris Blue Metallic over Champagne leather upholstery and equips a 5.0-liter V8 engine paired with a 4-speed automatic transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Having been registered on the West Coast since at least 1990, this 928S was acquired by the owner in 2020 and serviced with new spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, an upgraded K&N air filter, Volvo hydraulic engine mounts, and more. This 928S is now being offered for auction out of California with approximately 143k miles showing on the odometer.

Compared to the base Porsche 928, the “S” version can be distinguished by its black polyurethane front and rear spoilers. This example is finished in Iris Blue Metallic (33P) and features pop-up headlamps, headlight washers, an electric sunroof, body side moldings, a rear window wiper, dual exhaust tips, and chrome 16” slotted disc wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires. The seller indicates the driver’s side door handle was replaced under their ownership along with the 928S decal, rear window defroster, several electrical relays, and door contact switches. Yellow fog light lenses were also installed under current ownership. Some paint chips are noted on the mirror caps and paint bubbles are visible under the window trim. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with Champagne leather seats complemented by matching door panels, a blue leather dashboard, and blue carpets. Accessories include a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, and an aftermarket Continental Bluetooth radio. The outer driver’s seat bolter is torn, and some imperfections are present on the dashboard. Under current ownership, the driver’s window regulator and seatbelt receiver were replaced along with the floor mats, rear hatch release, A/C receiver dryer, blower motor, heater hose, carpet floor mats, and driver’s A-pillar trim. The seller adds that the temperature gauge light comes on intermittently, but the thermostat and engine-based temperature sensors have both been replaced, and there is a short to either the ground or the power to the radio that causes it to work intermittently.  The factory alarm is bypassed due to a bad module, and the digital clock and cruise control system are inoperable.

The fuel-injected 5.0-liter DOHC V8 engine delivers up to 288 HP and 302 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transaxle and a limited-slip differential. An upgraded K&N air filter has been installed by the current owner along with Volvo hydraulic engine mounts, new spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, an oil pan gasket, transmission filter and gasket, water pressure switch, thermostat, fuel filter, mass airflow sensor, air intake hoses, alternator, battery, muffler mounts, a coolant flush, and new gearbox and differential fluids. The brake pads and sensors were also replaced in 2021.

This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know:  "Thank you for visiting the auction.  Please let me know if there are any questions, and I will do my best to answer them."
