The flagship model of its class from 1980-1986, the Porsche 928 S showcases additional standard features, front & rear spoilers, uprated brakes, and a more powerful V8 engine. This final year example pairs a 4-speed automatic transmission and comes finished in Guards Red over a Champagne leather interior. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Illinois with approximately 55k miles on the odometer.
The 928 S can be distinguished from the standard 928 by its body-colored side moldings, and black polyurethane front and rear spoilers. Equipment also includes integrated fog lights, dual exhaust outlets, pop-up headlights with washers, and body-color mirror caps. This example comes finished in Guards Red and rides on factory 16" forged aluminum slotted disc wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season tires from 2021. The seller notes that a few stone chips and scratches have been touched up and a crack is present in the passenger-side lower front spoiler. A collection of detailed images along with a clean CARFAX report are shown in the gallery.
The Champagne leather interior features power sport seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a sunroof, cruise control, power windows, and black floor mats. Modifications include an aftermarket Alpine CD stereo head unit and a carbon-look gear selector knob. The seller notes a crack atop the dash pod, shrinkage near the passenger defroster vent, some warping in the rear storage compartment, and minor wear on the front seat bolsters. While the interior dome light can be switched on and off, it does not automatically illuminate upon opening the doors.
This 928 S is powered by a 5.0-liter 32-valve DOHC V8 engine which sends 288 HP and 302 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed automatic transaxle. Since 2021, service has included the replacement of the timing belt, throttle position sensor, coolant hoses, accessory belts, water pump, fuel pump, injector seals, intake boots, fuel hoses, coils, caps, spark plugs, rotors, wires, and under-hood insulation. Additionally, the MAF sensor is said to have been rebuilt along with the fuel injectors cleaned, tires balanced, and the A/C refrigerant recharged.
This sale will include a clean title.

@bbfishey After watching the video a few times, I don’t notice any noise that seems to coming from the undercarriage. I can take another video on Monday, and you are also more than welcome to come test drive the car for yourself or have your trusted 3rd party check it out. Thanks for your interest!
What's that bumping noise we hear during the turns? Struts? Bad bushings? It's something under carriage it sounds like.
For those that were curious, a cold start video has been submitted and will be up shortly! Thanks again for the comments and bids!
@Flyman615 You are more than welcome to come take a closer look at the interior in person, and also test drive it before you place your bid. Thanks for looking!
@AnyOldIron I agree. I've looked at several sub-70K mile 928s the interiors of which were in MUCH better shape.
@AnyOldIron The Carfax report has been submitted to PCar, and will be up shortly. If you'd like, you are more than welcome to come inspect the 928 for your self, and/or set up a 3rd party pre-purchase inspection. Thank you for your interest!

Can we see a carfax please. That interior cabin wear (seats, rear seat glove compartment etc) is just not commensurate with a 55k mile porsche.
